As we begin the new football season, all focus on the international football is squarely on the qualification of the teams towards the World Cup 2018 in Russia. The qualifying campaign is expected to finish by November 2017, and we will have a full host of qualifying games until then to decide who makes it to the finals.
World Cup 2018 Qualifying – Europe
Holland v France – Over 2,2.5 Asian Goal Line @ 1.90 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Holland come into the World Cup qualifying after taking 4 points from their opening 2 games of the campaign and will now look to take their attack to France. Holland as a country have under-performed on the international stage by not qualifying for the European Championships this summer, and will not want to far that ignominy again where they were 3rd in the last World Cup. The Holland squad has much changed with a host of youngsters Quincy Promes and Victor Janssen leading the line and scoring three goals between them. With Sneijder championing the midfield with Strootman, Wjnaldum and Klaassen sitting in behind him. Holland have been struggling defensively where they have leaked goals in 12 out of their last 13 games; and with a counter attacking team in France, one could expect their defence to be peppered tonight.
France come into this encounter not losing a game in 90 minutes for 14 matches in a row in 2016, with a streak that starting with a 3-2 win away to Holland back in March. France will rely on a strong contingent of players including Griezmann, Matuidi, Pogba, Payet, Sissoko and Gameiro who all have been part of the team for a large period of time. Gameiro in particular will be coming into this game with a lot of confidence after scoring 2 goals in his first start for the team. A lot of focus will be on Antoine Griezmann for France, who comes into this game after a strong showing in the Euros as well as finding the back of the net in the game against Bulgaria in mid-week. Defensively, France have been reasonably good, but their team has been vulnerable to leaking penalties and goals from counter-attacks which Holland are pretty good with a lot of pace in their strikers up front.
This promises to be the game of the day, and games between the 2 sides have seen a minimum of 2 goals being scored in 5 out of the last 6 games between the teams and I expect goals to flow through this encounter, and backing Over 2,2.5 Asian Goal Line in this encounter.
