We are back to club league football action starting this weekend with FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
England Premier League
Everton v Palace – Over 2.5 Goals/BTTS @ 2.10 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Everton head into this game against Crystal Palace on the back of 2 successive defeats in the EFL Cup and Premier League and need to get back to winning ways in order to go back up the table. They currently sit in 5th place and the disappointing loss to Bournemouth to brought down a bad 4 days for Everton. Everton now should have Barry and Baines back to full fitness to take part in this game, which will add more solidity to their defensive efforts. When it comes up front, there is a temptation to start Deulofeu instead of Bolasie to give some extra pace up and attacking instinct up front or even drop the struggling Barkley to give some added service to Lukaku who likes to put the ball in the back of the net against Crystal Palace. Everton’s defence has generally been susceptible to goals, conceding in 4 out of 6 games in the league so far. They have been particularly vulnerable to teams in set pieces, which they conceded against Middlesbrough and West Brom which Palace have been particularly good in.
Palace were struggling to score goals until they signed up some players this transfer window to get more goal scoring players like Townsend and Benteke in particular who have already made a huge impact this season. Palace scoring form can be seen from the form where they have now scored in 4 straight games since the transfer window wrapped up. Alan Pardew will know that he has done a great job for Palace against Everton; winning 2, drawing 3 of the last 6 games played. Pardew is missing his key defensive man Scott Dann who will be missing for a few more weeks; and he will have to rely on Delaney and Tomkins. Despite that Palace have conceded in every single game this season and without Dann it will make it more difficult.
Both these teams have found the back of the net regularly, and now that Palace have found some goal scorers, there is a good chance that their games go over 2.5 goals much like it has in 3 straight Palace games. I am backing Both teams to Score & Over 2.5 goals in this game.
Real Betis travel away to to the Basque country looking to take on mid-table rivals Real Sociedad in this encounter looking to grab the full 3 points in order to progress to the top 6 in the table. Betis will be looking to win and then they look at their top goal scorer Ruben Castro. He has already been the top scorer for the team over the last 3-4 years and his service to the team even at the age of 35 is remarkable for all to view. He has already hit 4 goals in the 6 games played so far. With him not finding the back of the net in the last 3 games in a row, we feel its due for him also to find the back of the net. Castro is key to their offensive efforts as he takes all their direct free-kicks close to the goal as well as all penalty kicks aside from the fact he is their furthest forward player, its quite likely he will be back to scoring form soon. Betis has played 3 games away from home against Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla. In the first 2 games he found the back of the net while one against Sevilla was a struggle despite several opportunities.
He has a good record against Sociedad scoring both meetings last season as well as 4 out of theist 6 games he has started against them, so he will be looking forward to locking horns with a familiar foe. He scores a goal at best every second game throughout his career, so we can really expect him to step up in this game tonight and backing him to score at generous odds of 3.25
