We are back to club league football action starting this weekend with FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
Dortmund AH-2 to beat Freiburg @ 2.00 (Bet365) – 2 points
Dortmund v Freiburg – Over 3.5 Goals @ 1.90 (Bet365) – 3 points
Dortmund come into this game against Freiburg with some cracking form behind them, already netting 13 goals in 4 games in the Bundesliga, while also smashing 6 in the Champions League and that confidence is flowing through the squad in order to deliver 5 wins and 1 loss since the season began. Dortmund fans are in heaven now with the form flowing through many members of the squad including Aubamayeng, Dembele, Gotze, Castro, Schurrle, Pulisic, Kagawa who have been scoring goals and even creating assists. Dortmund were expected to struggle with the sale of Hummels to Bayern, but Sokratis, Bartra, Ginter, Pisczeck, Schemlzer and Guerrero give them strong depth in cover defensively and they have kept 3 clean sheets from their 6 games so far.
Freiburg come into this game after beating a struggling Hamburg by a score of 1-0 while they got thrashed by Cologne on the weekend by a score of 3-0 away from home. Now they travel away to Dortmund, will really have their team struggling to keep it tight considering they lost both their away games so far. Don’t forget Freiburg are coming from a division lower after dropping down there. In their previous games against Dortmund they have lost 10 straight encounters on the trot with the scoreline reading 3-0, 3-1, 1-0, 5-1, 5-0, 2-0, 4-0, 4-1, 3-0 and 2-1. Freiburg’s main aim this season is survival and they might decide to rotate the squad and sacrifice this game ahead of more important games coming up.
I expect to rotate the squad with starts for Kagawa, Rode, Castro, Scuhrrle, Weigl among players who should come in. Dortmund should get out of the gates flying in this encounter, aiming to seal the result by 60 minute and give the squad some rest ahead of their mid week Champions League encounter. I expect Dortmund to win this game comfortably with goals flowing through the match.
Toulouse come into this game great form behind them beating Guingamp and Lile by a score 2-1 each showcasing their form that is developing on the attacking end, but also the vulnerabilities in defence. They have efforts coming from Martin Braithwaite (4 goals) and Toivonen (2 goals), who have been leading the line to score goals. Toulouse are showing that they are no longer a team that should be languishing in the bottom half of the table with results inclusive of 4-1 thrashing of Bordeaux, 2 solid 0-0 against Marseille & St Etienne and they have only lost once this season which was a 2-1 away loss to Bastia. They have conceded goals this season, but managing to find the back of the net which makes them deadly especially in front of their home fans.
PSG have now found the back of the net in every single game of them, and as the season has progressed, their offensive form has started to improve. They have now won their last 3 games by scores of 6-0 and 3-0 over the last week with Cavani finally finding his shooting boots. They will feel confident that along with players like di Maria, Lucas, Pastore, Matuidi who are giving Cavani support as well as scoring themselves, their offensive unit is looking sharp. On the defensive end they have to contend with numerous injuries to Kuruzawa, Aurier and Veratti; which leaves them vulnerable at times especially when they play away from home. An example of their 3-1 loss to Monaco showed us that on the counter attack they can easily be beaten, which will be on the back of Toulouse minds tonight.
5 out of PSGs 8 games and 4 out of Toulouse’s 6 games have seen over 2.5 goals getting through and while 3 out of the last 5 games between the 2 sides seeing over 2.5 goals. I expect PSG to be playing a full strength squad in search of a solid victory tonight. I am backing over 2.5 goals in this encounter.
