The second international tournament out of 3 this summer will begin in France, which is EURO 2016. This tournament generally is considered one of the best tournaments around the world, on par with the World Cup in the eyes of many, as it has most of the top teams in the world.
Belgium came into this tournament as one of the outside favourites to win, and after their last 3 matches, its easy to see why. They have finally rolled back their form winning the games by scoring 8 goals without conceding any which showcases how good this team can be when everyone is playing to their true potential. The Belgians and the Euro 2016 spectators finally got a strong performance from the Belgian captain Eden Hazard who was in his full pomp against Hungary despite showing glimpses in the games against Ireland and Sweden. The defence of Belgium will take a hit with Jan Vertonghen expected to miss tonight’s encounter with injury, which will need their other defenders (Kabasele, Ciman or Lukaku) to step up and help the cause.
Wales showcased in their last few games that they have struggled to find the back of the net. They were lucky against England to grab a goal of a Joe Hart mistake, while an own goal against Northern Ireland saw them get into this game. Axel Witsel will probably be given the responsibility of marking Gareth Bale to keep him under check. While Aaron Ramsey has shown flashes of brilliance; Sam Vokes and Hal Robson-Kanu have failed to show any threat when starting up front to create any impact. Defensively Wales could struggle despite playing a 5-3-2 formation as captain Ashley Williams will likely miss this match, giving them that solid lynchpin at the back to keep things under control.
The Belgians have looked extremely impressive in my money, and if they score first, I find it difficult to see how the Welsh will chase this game back. I am backing the Belgians to do the business against the Welsh in 90 minutes tonight.
