This year its a special edition celebrating the 100 years of the Copa America including teams from both South America (10) and North America (6) and being played on North American shores for the first time.
Colombia come into the knockout stages of the tournament as one of the favourites along with Argentina, now that Brazil have been knocked out. The team came easily through their group as the top team. After beating USA 2-0 and Paraguay 2-1; they then mixed up their team resting stars Bacca, James and Ospina, and lost in a narrow 2-3 loss to Costa Rica in a dead rubber. Colombia now welcome back their stars and will be aiming to continue their run of scoring at least 2 goals per game entering into this encounter against the Peruvians. Colombia were lucky to keep a clean sheet against a lost USA team, but have conceded in their other games and have in fact conceded in 8 out of their last 9 games in all competitions, which will be something that the Peruvians will look into.
Peru came out through a tough group including Ecuador, Brazil and minnows Haiti to get to this stage of the competition. They managed to beat Haiti and giants Brazil by a score of 1-0; while fought out an exciting 2-2 draw against Ecuador. They have had a different scorer for each of them, showcasing the hard work and team spirit they put in, in order to qualify to this stage of the tournament. People think that Peru might be a defensive team, but the goals that they have scored through the tournament has shown that the great individual talents that they have, can easily deliver some outstanding skills when needed.
This game will be an exciting one, and I can definitely see there being goals in this one, and I am backing over 2 Asian Goal Line in this encounter between Colombia and Peru. If exactly 2 goals are scored we get a refund, anything above is profit.
