Soccer Saturday is where most of us get a football fix for the week, the most football games in the world are played on this day, so plenty of chances to make some money.
Newcastle headed into the game last weekend needing the win, and I tipped them as well, and they delivered that quite well. Tonight again they face another critical game as they face Aston Villa needing to win, considering they are just 1 point ahead of Sunderland, and they have 3 games to go. Momentum is on their side after a positive turn around drawing 2-2 with Liverpool after going down by a score of 2-0 early on and then taking on Crystal Palae and winning solidly by a score of 1-0. Newcastle have finally seen the whole squad playing as a team particularly up front with Townsend, Sissoko and Wjnaldum giving great support to Cisse/Mitrovic in terms of assists or even finding the net. Defensively is where Newcastle have been struggling, but managed to keep a clean sheet in the last game, and will look at the same while taking on a struggling Aston Villa.
Aston Villa have been looking forward to ending this season with them struggling to win a single game since 6th of February which was 11 games ago. They have struggled to put up any resistance defensively, conceding goals for fun with just 7 goals in those encounters, with 4 coming against Southampton and Watford last time out, and both had nothing to play for. Aston Villa will be looking to experiment with their squad and try a lot of players in their last home encounter in order to give the fans some hope for next season.
Motivation is really strong with Newcastle, and they have been playing some good football off late, and I expect hem to win today.
England Premier League
West Ham AH:-1,-1.5 to beat Swansea @ 1.75 (888Sport) – 3 points
Andy Caroll Anytime Scorer @ 2.50 (Coral) – 1 point
West Ham come into this game against Swansea with the complete motivation to try and push for the Champions League spot, if not at least a Europa League spot as they move into their new stadium at Olympic Park. West Ham’s form has been extremely supportive of their performances where they have not lost a game in the Premier League in their last 10 games dating back to 6th of February and prior to that lost only 4 games since September, really SEPTEMBER. This team has been extremely fluid and attacking in their football with Andy Caroll, Dimitri Payet and Michael Antonio all been in great form for them and helping them create as well as score goals.
Swansea have nothing to play for and thats why the squad rotation has started. Sigurdson is out with a Shoulder injury and being rested as a precaution, Ashley Williams is being given a rest, while other absences are Paloschi, Neil Taylor and Montero. Swansea should give opportunities to Barrow, Naughton and Kingsley to start. I don’t see how Swansea have any motivation especially playing away from home, so you fail to see how they can win without their best 2 players of the season in Ashley Williams and Sigurdsson. Swansea have also been poor at set pieces conceding a record 14 goals from corners this season and with Carroll taking on them without Williams, I expect them to potentially concede through Carroll.
West Ham are looking to continue their great run of form, and I expect them to win once again.
Manchester United are striving hard to secure Champions League football and a lot will depend on them winning the remaining games in this season in order secure this football and hope that Arsenal beat their neighbours Manchester City to help the cause also. United are coming into this fixture with a rich vein of form behind them after winning 4 out of their last 5 games, with the draw to Leicester being their only bad game. They have come through beating the likes of Everton, West Ham, Villa and Palace through this recent run, and over the past few months have even dispatched of Manchester City and Arsenal. United look like making a real strong run towards end of the season with a great attacking threat of Martial, Ashford, Rooney and Mata up front. Defensively United continue to improve and have conceded more than 1 goal only once since March, that was against Tottenham by a score of 3-0.
Norwich City are really struggling and their problem comes more on the offensive end rather than the defensive end. With the threat of relegation, Norwich have failed to score in any of their last 3 games against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Sunderland. They will feel that they have a mountain to climb after slipping into the relegation zone following positive results coming by Sunderland and Newcastle. Norwich will feel that they have the personnel to get a result against Manchester United after they beat them 2-1 at Old Trafford, but since then Norwich slipped out of safety into big trouble. Prior to that poor result, Manchester United had won 4 games in a row scoring 13 goals with Norwich not finding the net at all.
Manchester United are a strong team and should have too much in the tank against a poor Norwich side who are struggling to put the ball in the back of the net.
