England Premier League
Newcastle to beat Crystal Palace @ 2.00 (888Sport) – 2 points
Newcastle v Crystal Palace – BTTS @ 1.85 (888Sport) – 2 points
Newcastle head into this critical game against Crystal Palace where nothing but a win is needed considering that their favourable fixture against Aston Villa next weekend as well. Newcastle will have the whole Toon Army behind them, and the momentum is on their side after a positive turn around drawing 2-2 with Liverpool after going down by a score of 2-0 early on. What is positive coming to Newcastle into this encounter is that they have only lost 1 league encounter at home since the turn of the year, which came against Bournemouth but drawn 3 and won 3 otherwise. Newcastle have finally seen the whole squad playing as a team particularly up front with Townsend, Sissoko and Wjnaldum giving great support to Cisse/Mitrovic in terms of assists or even finding the net. Defensively is where Newcastle have been struggling, but definitely have to keep it tight where both teams have scored in 5 out of their last 6 games with the only clean sheet they kept was against a lost Swansea team.
Crystal Palace will be buoyed with confidence through the squad after a win in the FA Cup Semi-Final and will be looking forward to play that final. Until then its still league duties left for Palace to try and push themselves up the table, as every position gives them extra cash. But their form has completely deserted them in the league winning only 1 Premier League game in 2016, which came against a struggling Norwich side. They have struggled to keep things tight at the back, with the rotation of keepers continuing. When it goes to attacking wise, they keep chopping and changing to find the right combination, but they have struggled to develop some consistency. Goals will probably come from midfield players such as Zaha, Puncheon, Bolaise who have been fairly consistent all season.
This game looks like a really tight one between the 2 sides, Newcastle need the points, while Palace would like to put in a good showing, so I am backing 2 separate picks with Newcastle to win as well as both teams to score.
