Soccer Saturday is where most of us get a football fix for the week, the most football games in the world are played on this day, so plenty of chances to make some money.
Games between Tottenham and Arsenal have been fiesty encounters in general, but that takes another step forward today as both are battling for the title to come back to their respective clubs after a long wait, and this will be expected to get hot especially with the game kicking off early. The cards have been fiesta between the sides with the card count being as follows in the last few games 1, 8, 9 & 8.
Arsenal already start out with troubles as Koscielny being suspended, meaning the vicious Gabriel will start in his place, and is always up for a card in such encounters already grabbing 3 yellow cards & 1 red from just 11 league starts. Arsenal against tougher opposition seems to leak cards with 5 against Leicester, 1 yellow/1 red against Chelsea, 3 against Tottenham,
Tottenham are no saints when it comes to the bookings with 56 yellow cards in 28 games so far, which is an average of 2 per game. Coming into the big derby games; they had 4 against Chelsea, 3 against West Ham while 2 against arsenal in the reverse fixture. Tottenham have some culprits in the disciplinary table with Dier (8 yellows), Lamela (6 yellows), Ali (6 yellows), Rose (5 yellows) and Walker (5 yellows).
Michael Oliver the referee for today, is averaging around 4 cards per game, but when it comes to key fiesty encounters, look at his stats:
Liverpool-Man City : 10 yellows
Tottenham-Chelsea : 6 yellows
Arsenal-Liverpool : 5 yellows
Southampton-Everton : 6 yellows
Stoke-West Brom: 5 yellows, 2 reds
Arsenal-Chelsea : 7 yellows
Oliver even took charge of the derby game last season where he gave 9 yellow cards to the teams.
This game looks prime for cards, and the information above surely convinces me that his will be a very card happy game.
England Premier League
Leicester DNB to beat Watford @ 1.93 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Leicester Race to 7 Corners @ 2.00 (Bet365) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Leicester were pretty unlucky not to grab the full 3 points against West Brom especially when you look at the fact they only lost 3 games all season 2 to Leicester and 1 to Liverpool. With Vardy, Mahrez looking in great form coming into this game, attacking oppositions, you will expect Leicester to travel away to grab the points against Watford. Leicester have travelled away and given a good account for themselves beating Tottenham by a score of 1-0 and Manchester City by a score of 3-1; so we can expect them to put on a strong performance coming in this game to try and stretch their lead over Tottenham who will be facing a tough Arsenal side today.
Watford have been struggling recently with just 2 wins in their last 10 games. They have struggled against teams around them in the league like Bournemouth, Chelsea, Southampton, Swansea coming into this game. Offensive firepower has hurt them as they have scored only 2 goals in their last 5 games weeks. Ighalo and Deeney have lost their lustre up front with a highly rotated Manchester United defence managing to keep them out in mid-week. They also look relatively safe from relegation now and will be a bit distracted with a big FA Cup game coming next weekend.
Leicester City have the motivation to continue grinding on the results, and I expect them to get all 3 points in this encounter, but backing the Draw No Bet as insurance.
Sevilla travel away to an absolutely rubbish formed Getafe hoping to seal off 3 points that can help them to keep pressure on their rivals to secure the Europa League spot in their favour. Sevilla have been in decent form, just losing to Barcelona in their last 9 games, with 3 draws and 5 wins other than that. Sevilla will feel that they are slowly building rhythm towards the end of this season, and will look to put in a strong performance tonight. Sevilla won their last game 1-0 against Eibar while resting Vitolo, Iborra and Gameiro who would generally start this game. They will be itching to take on Getafe especially since they thrashed them by a 5-0 scoreline in the previous fixture with Gameiro netting a hat-trick.
Getafe are the worst form team in La Liga 7 straight games coming into this game shipping 16 goals in those games while only scoring 2 goals. Getafe are struggling offensively having failed to find the back of the net in 6 straight games losing to poor sides like Las Palmas, Levante and Granada also in this run. They are the 3rd lowest scorers in the league with only 26 goals and forwards Vasquez, Scepovic and Rodriguez really struggling in recent weeks despite netting 10 goals among them for the season.
Sevilla looks like they are a strong side against Getafe who are poor, and I expect a big win for Sevilla and evens money is slightly over priced in my opinion.
Verona are hosting Sampdoria in what generally is one of the most entertaining encounters on the Serie A calendar with 4 goals landing in 4 out of the last 5 game between the 2 sides. This season it takes extra special meaning as both teams are sitting towards the bottom of the table near the relegation zone separated by 10 points.
Sampdoria are coming into this game with a bit of goal scoring form behind them, finding the back of the net in 10 out of their last 11 games scoring 17 goals during that time and even scoring 10 goals in their last 6 games away from home. Despite losing Eder to Inter, Quagliarella has stepped up to the plate netting in the last 2 games. Quagliarella in particular is looking to step up his form to get a seat on Conte’s plane to France for the Euros and he will be looking to make a statement in this encounter tonight. They can also rely on the support for Muriel, Soriano and Alvarez to help them in their goal scoring efforts. Sampdoria have struggled away from home also by leaking 2 goals in 6 out of hotel last 7 games away from home; so we could see them leak goals tonight.
Verona are the hosts of this game and are sitting at rock bottom of the Serie A, but have put in some decent performance over the last few games drawing 3-3 with Inter, beating Atalanta 2-1 and Chievo 3-1 and losing a high scoring 5-2 game against Verona, showcasing their offensive abilities through these games. The game against Udinese last weekend was a shocker from the point of view that they didn’t find the back of the net, since they found the back of the net in 6 out of the 7 games prior. The Grand Old Man of Verona Luca Toni is still surviving and putting on goal scoring performance at the ripe old age of 38. Verona’s performances seen that they have concede a lot of goals, 12 goals in their last 5 games; showcasing their inability to keep it tight and thats why they have conceded 45 goals this season (4th worst in Serie A).
This will be one for the purists, entertaining and with history showing that over 2.5 goals landing in 4 out of their last 5 games, I expect it to be another one with a lot of goals.
