As Super Tuesday arrives, many top leagues around the world have football action through the mid-week, so we will look to grab the opportunity to make some money.
Everton travel to Aston Villa away knowing that Villa are in horrible form and have just come off a bad win against a Stoke City side who were struggling for form by a sore of 2-1. Aston Villa have been struggling defensively leaking 2 goals per game in 4 out of the last 5 games. Their poor defensive struggles with Bunn in goal have been evident to all and the backline has been consistently chopped and changed without any good performances. Aston Villa have also failed to score goals with no consistent scoring resulting in them sitting in 20th spot, 7 points behind 19th place Sunderland and 8 points from safety with them facing four more tough games in Everton, Man City, Tottenham, Swansea and Chelsea should see them doomed for relegation.
Everton will feel fresh coming into this game after not playing for a week, which had them put in a strong performance in the FA Cup against Bournemouth. Everton now have a settled squad in place with Lukaku, Barkley, Lennon and Cleverly being the the choice of the attacking 4 by Martinez in recent weeks. Lukaku and Barkley in particular have already smashed 24 goals among them and also netted 2 goals each in their last encounter which was a 4-0 win against Villa at Goodison Park. Martinez also has back up options in Mirallas, Kone, Deulofeu who can easily put in performances to chip in with goals. Everton have been on a big roll with 4 wins in their last 5 games, with all 4 ames keep clean sheets.
Everton look to be a settled squad in good form and 2 wins can help them push towards the Europa League position.
Southampton are looking to turn around their fortunes this season and it has all come about due to their performances winning 5 out of their last 7 games. A lot of their strong performances have come out because they have managed to keep their back line tight which leaves their offensive firepower of Long, Austin, Pelle, Tadic and Mane to focus on scoring goals on a regular basis. This run of form have seen them rise up the table now to 7th spot just 3 points behind West Ham and 4 points behind Man Utd. The Saints are 3rd in the form guide and while they travel away to Bournemouth; a lot of people in the betting circles expect them to keep a clean sheet in this game. They will probably need just the odd goal from their attacking lineup in order to help them knick this game.
Bournemouth have been pretty average in recent weeks losing 3 and drawing 1 of their last 4 games in the league so far. They struggles have been due to the fact that they have been struggling to score goals, netting only once in those games. Eddie Howe’s men look like their battle for safety will take it towards the end of the season in order for them to settle this. Benin Afobe had been the star for them in the month of January scoring 3 goals during that duration but has failed to net in the last 3 games. Bournemouth had lost in the opening encounter 2-0 against Southampton despite the Saints going down to 10 men; and it showcased their struggles offensively in that encounter also against the tough defence.
I expect Southampton to steal another victory in this game but more importantly keeping a clean sheet, and that why I back them draw no bet as an insurance.
Leicester City are on fire losing just 1 game unluckily to Arsenal in their last 5 games, and have showcased top form coming into this game. Defensively is where Leicester have made a dramatic improvement where in their last 4 victories, they have only leaked one goal. Leicester have relied a lot on Vardy and Mahrez to consistently deliver goals and even create chances but as the season draws to a close players like Albrighton, Ulloa, Okazaki, Drinkwater, Fuchs have all stepped up to their game to help the team contribute to big wins. Leicester have had a fortunate weekend with Arsenal slipping to a loss stretching their lead to 5 points over them while Spurs are 2 points behind and face West Ham and Arsenal in their next 2 games; they could stretch the lead to potentially 5 points by the weekend.
West Brom have been average in the Premier League especially away from home where they stole a 1-0 victory away against Everton and a 3-2 win against Palace at home. The Baggies form away from home shows that they have only beaten sides below them in the table such as Aston Villa, Norwich City with only the victory against Stoke coming from someone above them in the table. West Brom have lost Leicester City in the reverse fixture by a score of 3-2 and will feel like they will want to go out to play to take revenge. The recent play of the Baggies has seen them be more expansive, and that leaves them vulnerable at times to be open.
This encounter will be an extremely tight one, but Ranieri’s team know that its a once a lifetime opportunity to one of the non-richer clubs to win the Premier league, and they are definitely going to have a crack at winning this game in front of their home fans. Leicester have only lost once at home, and I don’t think that twice its going to be in this game.
