Soccer Saturday is where most of us get a football fix for the week, the most football games in the world are played on this day, so plenty of chances to make some money.
Manchester United have shown to be a much improved offensive unit in the last few games especially led by the offensive creativity and fluidity helped by Rooney, Mata, Lingard & Martial. All of them have shown glimpses of brilliance, and Manchester United clearly dominated the ball against Chelsea last weekend but conceded extremely late on a defensive howler. Manchester United will look at the opportunity to face Sunderland and will look to repeat the 3-0 performance against Sunderland last time at Old Trafford. They have conceded goals in 4 out of their last 6 games in all competitions, while Man Utd have conceded in 8 out of their last 9 games away from home and I think this could be a very open game for Manchester United.
Sunderland have been fighting back week after week to try and stay in the league, and recent form has really helped them slowly crawl themselves back out. Sunderland have now scored 8 goals in their last 5 games, which showcases the potential this team have on the offensive end to come out of the doldrums. Jermain Defoe, Yann M’Vila, van Aanholt and Khazri have been good offensively so there is always an option for them to score a goal. Teams generally take on Sunderland knowing that they can easily score against them as has been seen 10 goals in their last 5 games.
Manchester United and Sunderland encounters have produced a minimum of 2 goals in 8 out of the last 9 games; so I think backing goals on the Asian Line provides us some good insurance incase only 2 goals are scored, but I am expecting a few goals to be shipped in this game.
ENGLAND PREMIER LEAGUE
Everton AH-1 to beat West Brom @ 1.85 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Everton DNB beat West Brom @ 1.80 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Everton are looking in good form especially in the last 3 weeks winning each of their last 3 games in by a score of 3-0 against Carlisle, Stoke and Newcastle. Lukaku, Barkley have particularly been in good form heading into this encounter with support from a resurgent Aaron Lennon and Tom Cleverly leads to extra selection headache to Martinez with Mirallas, Kone and Deulofeu sitting and waiting for their opportunity to play. More importantly for Everton have come back into form with the return of Jagielka to control the back line with Coleman, Stones, Jagielka and Baines looking a solid outfit at this stage.
West Brom are absolutely awful failing to get a victory in any of their last 5 Premier League games and also should have an extremely tired squad after struggling in mid-week in the FA Cup playing 120 minutes + penalties against lower division Peterborough. The Baggies have only scored only 1 goal in their last 4 games coming against Aston Villa during that time. With Berahino throwing his tantrums about a transfer and Rondon & Anichebe have failed to create an impact yet. The Baggies defence will be in trouble with McAuley and Evans definitely out while Dawson is a major doubt in this encounter.
With the Baggies have very poor away from home failing to win since November, while Everton being relieved of some crowded fixtures will now look to push on with positive results as they aim push on for Europa League spots.
Juventus are on a crazy unbeaten run with 14 straight wins in the league, which has helped them tome to within 2 points of leaders Napoli who they face in this encounter, and the result of this game, could potentially decide who is going to win this Serie A; with any lead could impact the results especially with both teams still in Europe to make this a tough result to call. Juventus will rely on the form of their offensive unit in Dybala, Morata and Manduzkic along with the support from Marchisio and Pogba. Juventus will also feel confident after they have kept 7 straight clean sheets in the league and will hope their defence holds on, while their forwards and midfield can continue to push on for goals and grab the vital 3 points.
Napoli have been in equally good form with 8 straight victories on the trot. Their offensive firepower led by an exciting unit of Insigne, Higuain, Hamsik and Callejon has truly been entertaining the fans across the country, as they continue to keep racking up the goals netting 53 goals in 24 games. Higuain in particular has racked up 24 goals in 24 games, and will feel confident of continuing his run of goal scoring form to push on for victory for his team and the first title for Naples in over 25 years. Defensively Napoli have been leaking goals in 6 out of their last 8 games, so one can expect goals at either end.
This is going to be a critical games in terms of the title race but both teams have always produced some entertaining fixtures with 4 straight games over the last 2 seasons seeing both teams scoring, and I expect we should see some goals from both outfits in this critical encounter.
