We are back on Super Saturday for another round of club football, frisking the fixtures for good opportunities to make profit.
Looking at all the fixtures coming up this weekend; if there is one that will have free flowing football, entertainment all over the pitch and goals; it has to be in this matchup of Everton v Leicester.
Everton host Leicester and are playing in good form on the offensive end with a wonderful attacking front 4 of Lukaku, Barkley, Deulofeu and Kone. Between them they have scored 26 out of the 29 goals that Everton have scored in the League this season. They have contributed in the assists for each other providing 20 assists also among them. Lukaku in particular is in a rich vain of form in 7 straight games in all competitions leading the line for them. May it be headers, shots from outside the box, penalties and even his ability from the free-kick. Everton’s struggles have been on the defensive end especially since the captain Jagielka has been injured. The team has had a lot of injuries across the park but Jagielka was holding the fort well together and now the team has conceded goals in 9 out of their last 10 Premier League games.
Leicester City on the other side are the darlings of the Premier League; and everyone wants to see them do well to show that money is not the only way to win the Premier League; nor is a world-class manager. All it needs is a good team spirit and an experienced coach who knows what he is doing to help them progress. Leicester City have been in great form, losing just 1 game in the league to Arsenal in an explosive 5-2 loss; and have gone on to beat a lot of good teams this season including a 2-1 win in mid-week last time around. Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have been instrumental in their success contributing to 26 out of the 34 goals scored by Leicester. Leicester have been playing free flowing football throughout their campaign with Ranieri giving them a license to attack with Mahrez a floating roll on offence to create opportunities. Leicester struggled to keep a clean sheet in the league; but have finally managed 3 of them; but still leaked goals in 4 out of their last 6 games.
This game will surely be a cracking one with some interesting match ups including Baines v Mahrez, Lukau v Huth, Duelofeu v Fuchs, Coleman v Kone and Vardy v Stones. This game promises to be an exciting one, and we can only hope it delivers on that promise in this one. I am backing Over 2.5 goals and Both teams to score in this game.
Tottenham Hotspurs lost their 1st game since the opening day last weekend against Newcastle, in what surely would be considered an upset. Tottenham would like to get back on the winning trail; and they have a good opportunity to turn around this form away from home against a struggling Southampton side who have lost 4 out of their last 5 and the other one being a draw.
Tottenham are in good form other than last week’s games. They sailed through their group in the Europa League as well as been undefeated from August till December. Tottenham’s success has relied a lot on team performance to ensure their success. Pochettino has made the team tougher and hard to beat as can be seen from only the 2 losses they have faced this season. Harry Kane has been leading the line, but been a bit shaky in recent weeks. The team will rely a lot on the creative instincts of Eriksen, Lamela, Dembele among their supporting cast to deliver. The problem for Tottenham has been their defence has been a bit leaky; and they will need to step up their game if they want to hold on to victories.
Southampton come into this game on the back of a run of poor form and that has resulted due to poor defensive efforts. They have only kept 2 clean sheets in their last 11 games and lost 4 and drawn 1 in their last 5 games of the league. They have struggled to find the back of the net, and that has resulted in them being in this poor form sitting in at the bottom half of the table. They have conceded goals against the top teams in Premier League so far including against Liverpool, Leicester, Man City, Man Utd. Sadio Mane has been their best player this season, and while Pelle is just recovering from injury; its hard to see how they will find enough power to put enough goals to past Tottenham.
Spurs have been in a good run and I don’t expect them to lose this game, so the Draw No Bet is a good insurance for this team to win.
PSG travel away to play Caen who are struggling to buy a victory in their last 5 games, with just a solitary win during that time. While they have managed to find some victories and more draws, they have sneaked into 4th spot with 30 points from the 18 games so far. Caen come into this failing to win any of the last 3 and come into this game with a lot of absences with Leborgne & Yahia out injured while Beaulieu and Voisin both injured in that game. Caen’s struggled have come because of poor offence where they have only scored 21 goals in 18 games.
PSG are the form team of the league and probably even in Europe for any domestic league, not losing a single game this season winning 15 games while drawing the remaining 3. They have manage to keep the goals flowing through Ibraimovic and Cavani who have scored 24 goals out of 45 among them. They have had the rest of the team contribute with the likes of Di Maria, Lavezzi, Pastore, Lucas, Kuruzawa, Matuidi and Aurier. This shows they have talent all around the pitch to contribute to them with a win. Defensively they have been outstanding, which has made the biggest difference to them.
PSG won this match up 2-0 last year; and will be hoping to replicate that with almost the entire fit team available for this encounter. I am backing PSG to win on the Asian Lines.
Leverkusen come into this game in the with an opportunity to move into the Champions League spots with a win over Inglostadt tonight. Leverkusen must feel extremely good about themselves and particularly due to the crushing 5-0 victory they had last weekend against one of their rivals in Monchengladbach.
Leverkusen has been hot/cold this season and that has added to the mystery and excitement of their league and their matches. Leverkusen are the 4th highest scorers in the league with 24 goals in 16 games; while they have been average defensively conceding 20 boas in the same time. Javier Hernandez has been largely instrumental in their success leading the front line with 10 goals for them. He is also supported by Kiessling, Bellarabi, Mehmedi, Calhongolu who make up an exciting 5 players for Leverkusen. Defensively is the area where Leverkusen have been struggling as they have conceded in 5 out of their last 6 Bundesliga games and 8 out of 9 in all competitions.
Inglostadt are sitting in mid-table in 11th spot with just 5 wins from the 16 games played so far, and are just 6 points ahead of the relegation zone. Inglostadt’s issue has been their offence, as they have scored only 1 goal while conceding 7 in their last 3 games. Inglostadt have only kept 2 clean sheets all season; and one can not expect much from them in this game, other than to possibly score and put the pressure on Leverkusen.
Leverkusen should have too much in the tank for their opponents, and I expect them to put a few goals past their opponents tonight.
