The NBA season is back tonight, and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.
The Phoenix Suns travel away to Memphis in the search of a victory in order to get back to winning ways, after dropping 3 straight games all on the road. The Suns will need to rely a lot on their high octane offence if they want to push on for some points in order to try and take on the Memphis team who have been a mixed bag in recent games.
The Suns despite their struggles, continue to average over 106 points per game for the season, including averaging 104 points per game on the road. The Suns rely a lot on their 3-point shooting to keep them in the games, where they average almost 27 3-point shots taken while knocking down almost 11 of them, 2nd only to the Golden State Warriors, while shooting them at a decent click of 40%. The Suns will always get their chance to score, as they take a 2nd best 88 shots per game. The Suns have relied a lot on Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight, who together are averaging 44 points per night. The Suns also have a great cast of 3-point shooters in Teletovic, Warren, Tucker, Morris, Leuer and Booker where they can easily space out the floor.
The Suns will feel confident of scoring tonight as despite winning just 2 games in their last 10 outings, they have scored 100 points in 7 out of this games, only failing to do so against Spurs, Bulls and Brooklyn. The Suns have also managed 100 points in the last 2 meetings against Grizzlies, so will fancy their chances on their current offensive form to knock down those points.
The Golden State Warriors take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight hoping to extend their 21-0 record after last night’s solid performance against Toronto; to another night tonight against the fading Nets.
The Warriors have been on the full pump so far this NBA season with them relying a lot on Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes are averaging is 65 points per game. While Barnes is injured, Brandon Rush and Andre Iguadola have stepped in well to cover for them. The Warriors are continuing to be one of the most efficient teams in recent NBA history scoring at 49% from the field including 44% from downtown. From 3-point territory; they knock down almost 14 three’s a game from a league high 31 attempts.
The Warriors take on a team who they beat early on in the season by a score of 107-99; and they are on a poor run with a 4-10 record. The Warriors have scored more the 110 points in 8 out of their last 10 games; and the 2 were against 2 of the best defensive teams in the league in Utah and Chicago; so they will fancy themselves to knock down 111 points tonight as well.
