We are back on Super Saturday for another round of club football, frisking the fixtures for good opportunities to make profit.
Tottenham on the form guide are the second best form team in the Premier League over the last 5 games, winning 3 and drawing 2 games in that span for 11 points. Since their opening match loss to Manchester United, they have not lost a single game in the Premier League.
Their form has picked up owing to the scoring form of their main striker Harry Kane, who has now scored 9 goals in 7 games for Tottenham and England. He has also been ably assisted in recent weeks with goals scored by Ali, Dembele, Walker, Alderwierld, Lamela and Eriksen. They also have the summer signing Son to fit in back to their lineup to play in the hole behind Kane with Eriksen and Lamela on either side. Defensively they have been decent conceding in 4 out of their last 6 games; but the solid clean sheet against Chelsea last week would have given them a lot of confidence.
Tony Pulis was always going to make the Baggies a tough outfit for any side to come and beat. The Baggies have had a mixed bag of performance after beating Arsenal, have also lost Man Utd and Leicester while drawing with West Ham and beating Norwich. Their unpredictability sets them up for not continued success, although Pulis is keeping them afloat in mid-table. Baggies form has been a struggle due to their goal scoring exploits; as neither of their 3 strikers, Berahino, Rondon or Lambert have been delivering with consistency.
This game by my reckoning while be an extremely tight one, as they typically are for Baggies games; and I am backing Tottenham to steal an away win with a narrow 1-0 scoreline.
Leicester City travel away to Swansea City with ample form on their side, and sitting 2nd in the table. The Tinkerman Ranieri has made this side into one that plays attractive football, and has seen the side lose just 1 game during that spell coming against Arsenal by a 2-5 scoreline. Even in that game, Leicester looked an attacking side that was always on the pump and could score a goal at anytime. Now that Jamie Vardy has broken van Nistlerooy’s record; he will be aiming to continue his run of form to set a record of his own, that will be for the rest of the league to beat. Riyad Mahrez has been a bit off colour in recent weeks, but the rest of the City team in Drinkwater, Albrighton, Fuchs in particular have been providing enough service to Vardy, Ulloa and Okazaki to continue their scoring form. Leicester have also been improving defensively and kept 2 clean sheets in their last 5 games.
Swansea City’s Gary Monk is the next favourite manager to be sacked. After starting out the season with 2 draws and 2 wins from the first 4 games; he has struggled to recapture that magic and has only won 1 game since September began against struggling Aston Villa. Even home comforts haven’t been able to help Swansea as they lost to Stoke & Arsenal, while drawing against Tottenham, Everton and struggling Bournemouth. Their form has dried up due to the goal scoring struggles of Gomis, Ayew and Montero; who are their front 3 target players. In fact in their last 4 games the only 2 goals they scored were against the struggling Cherries when they were 2-0 down; out of which 1 was Shelvey from the spot.
Swansea’s Gary Monk will need a win today to keep his job, but the form, freedom and flair with which Leicester are playing with; its hard to see them beat Leicester; so I will back Leicester on the Draw No Bet Market.
Wolfsburg entertain Dortmund in what is definitely the most entertaining game in the Bundesliga this weekend including for all the neutral fans. If you all remember, I made this same tip of over 2.5 goals & BTTS in the DFB Pokal Finals in May last year; and the result landed inside 30 minutes last time; and looking at the 2 teams’ form; it is possible to happen again.
The hosts Wolfsburg are sitting behind Dortmund by 7 points in 3rd spot; and will be looking to build on their recent success in the Bundesliga. They have only lost 1 game in their last 6 games and will look to take that confidence into this game. They also particularly like their home comforts as they haven’t lost a game there dating back to 26th March 2014. Wolfsburg will rely on Bas Dost, Kruse, Schurrle and Caliguiri to continue to deliver on their scoring form much as most of them scored during their last home win which was a 6-0 demolition of Werder Bremen. Their defence has most definitely been suspect away from home where they have lost badly to PSV, Mainz, Gladbach, Bayern to name a few this season.
Dortmund have been the darlings of the Bundesliga; entertaining us in almost every fixture despite Bayern dominating the league. Dortmund have lost just 2 games this season which was a 5-1 drubbing by Bayern and 3-1 loss to Hamburg couple of weeks ago. Dortmund’s attacking threat has been wonderful for all to see as they have scored a remarkable 40 goals in 14 games so far; with Aubamayeng scoring 17 goals himself. Him along with band of merry yellow men in Reues, Mikhtaryian and Kagawa have really turned around the fortunes of this team under new manager Tuschel. The Defence of Dortmund is another problem all together; Dortmund have only kept 4 clean sheets in the Bundesliga and none in their last 5 games.
I am backing over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score conceding both teams recent forms. Games at the Volkswagen Arena have landed 2-1 in their last 2 meetings and this bet would have landed in 9 out of the last 10 games between the 2 sides.
Torino are welcoming a Roma team to Turin who are in the middle of a mini-crisis where they have failed to get a victory in their last 3 games in any competition after drawing 2-2 with Bologna, losing 2-0 to Atalanta and and 6-1 to Barcelona. Roma would not have found this most appropriate moment to travel to Turin when they face a must win game in their final Champions League counter, while hoping results land their way in the other games. Roma have struggled defensively conceding goals 2 goals in 4 out of their last 5 games, while conceding goals in 15 out of their last 16 games. A loss in this game could push them down to 5th spot in the Serie A; with a game to Napoli happening next weekend.
Torino have been in good form winning 3 straight games now against Atalanta, Cesena and Bologna; which will give them a lot of confidence. Despite their losses in games against Inter and Juventus; they played their hearts out and put in solid performances. They are currently in 8th spot; just 6 points behind Roma; and a win could narrow that gap. They have a talented bunch of offensive players in Quagliarella (4 goals), Lopez (2 goals), Baselli (4 goals). They have also enjoyed their home comforts this season, just losing narrowly 1-0 to Inter; but beating Roma could be something that could count positively for them this season already beating Fiorentina 3-1 at home.
This game can go either way as with the nature of the Serie A; but I expect Roma to have one eye on that Champions League fixture, which could led them slip up in this game. Torino love scoring goals at home and this fixture has seen both teams score in 4 out of their last 5 games between each other; so my pick will be both teams to score in this game.
