England Premier League
Everton DNB to beat Bournemouth @ 1.88 (Bet365) – 3 points
Lukaku Anytime Scorer @ 2.50 (888sport) – 1 point
Everton have improved in the recent weeks and managed to get 10 points out of a maximum of 12 so far, while their top goal scorer Lukaku has gotten back into great form after netting 2 goals last week. Everton’s performances all season have been good losing only 3 games, to the top sides in Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal.
Everton’s attacking lineup has been quite good with Barkley, Deulofeu, Kone and Lukaku all been in the goals and assists; and the fluidity that the 4 of them are showing are truly what is helping the team do well. They have a solid midfield in Barry and McCarthy who are adding the additional layer in front of the defence, while Barry has involved in starting the attacks from deep in midfield. In defence they have not been in the best of form with a lot of injuries; however, Baines is expected to make his return tonight to give Everton some extra assurances at the back.
Bournemouth had been doing well until injury to their top scorer Callum Wilson. Joshua King has stepped in his place and netted a couple of goals, but his consistency will be something that will be needed to be tested if they want to ensure they survive this season. Bournemouth have lost 6 out of their last 8 games, with their other 2 games being draws against Swansea and Watford, which in truth are the most poor sides in the league at this time along with Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Bournemouth have been poor at home also winning just 1 games out of 6 however Everton have done a better job knocking 2 wins and 3 draws on the road. The draw no bet price in Everton is perfect to grab tonight, and I think they should get the victory tonight.
Manchester City are coming of a disappointing week where they have lost 4-1 to Liverpool and 1-0 to Juventus in 2 games where the least that Pellegrini would have expected is 2 draws especially with the return of Sergio Aguero. Man City welcome Southampton who had been in decent form until they were shut out last weekend against Stoke City.
Man City will have an exciting front 4 of Aguero, Sterling, de Bruyne and the Spanish Magician Silva who is coming back from injury in this game. Aguero has come back from injury and already netted in the game against Liverpool; and will need the midfield to step up to push on for more goals if they are to get the win at home. The Man City defence has had a major blow in recent weeks after conceding 8 goals in 6 games and in particular 5 goals in their last 2. What makes things even worst for them is that Joe Hart will be out with an injury in addition to Kompany, Mangala and Zabaleta who are 4 out of their 5 man defence (incl GK); which will not bode well for them to keep a clean sheet.
The Southampton team will be looking forward to this game and in particular taking on the Man City defence that are a bit slower with Sagna, and Dimechelis on the right side of the defence and on the left side when Kolarov bombs forward. Southampton will look to Tadic and Mane to take advantage of those channels on the wings. Up front Pelle will be missing through suspension, but we expect Juanmi to start up front with Shane Long coming off the bench at some point. Southampton’s defence has been poor and in particular away from home with 3 straight games as well as in 7 out of their last 9 games in all competitions.
The games between Man City and Southampton have been always entertaining with the bet of over 2.5 goals and BTTS landing in 3 out of the last 5 games between the 2 sides.
Barcelona have turned on the swag now that Leo Messi has come back to the fore; and they have shown us in their last 2 games, when they are on song, they can beat any side in the world. With the form that Suarez and Neymar have shown in Messi’s absence its crazy to see how much more better this side can get when he gets back into the team. They were 3-0 up against Real Madrid when he came on, a 4-0 win in the end; while they smashed Roma by a score of 6-1 in their next outing with Messi getting twice on the scoresheet.
Barcelona’s defence has been a bit shaky, but until that Roma game, they had managed to keep 5 straight clean sheets. Due to that shaky defence, they had to outscore opponents in every game, an averaged 3 goals per game in their last 6 straight in La Liga due to this reason. With Messi back in the lineup and him already netting twice, you can expect more firepower from him. Iniesta and Claudio Bravo were rested in the Champions League; so you can expect with no major games coming up; they will continue on their merry way in the La Liga, racking up the goals in order to push their claims a the top of the table.
Sociedad have been super poor since the sacking of David Moyes’ but pulled of a shock result against Sevilla at home winning by a score of 2-0. For this game they will miss Illaramendi, Jonathas and Zurutuza who are regular starters out of this game due to suspension and injuries. Sociedad have general been poor losing to sides like Betis, Malaga, Las Palmas away from home and even against the conservative Atletico Madrid. David Moyes had pulled off an upset last year against them but then Barcelona came back and won 2-0 at the end of the season.
Barcelona from the previous seasons have enjoyed playing Sociedad beating them 4-1 and 5-1, showcasing the team’s worrying form away from home that extends a number of years. I expect Barcelona to tear Sociedad apart and get 4 goals in this game. Play this one carefully with low stakes.
