We are back on Super Saturday for another round of club football, frisking the fixtures for good opportunities to make profit.
Manchester City take on Liverpool in a very big game especially for Jurgen Klopp in order to showcase what he has done to change this Liverpool lineup and their style of play.
Manchester City welcome back Aguero and Silva most likely, which will give them more attacking threat going forward. Silva has by far been the most creative player for City this campaign and along with Kevin de Bruyne & Raheem Sterling; they got additional creative influence for Aguero up front. Their wingers along with the full backs of Kolorav and Zabaleta produce plenty of crosses as an opportunity for their forwards to cross. Not to forget also that Man City have had great success for Fernandiho, Kompany, Otamendi and Aguero all managing to score from corners, so those set pieces are also a good opportunity for them. Man City average around 7 corners per game, and that has happened in 6 out of their last 7 games against all opposition.
Liverpool are the masters of the corners from my opinion for many many years. Liverpool’s average corners have been around 8 corners which would have landed in 5 out of their last 6 games. Liverpool have some great wingers this season to help them create those opportunities from wide places like Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino and Milner. Ever Since Klopp has come on he has switched to 4-2-3-1 and that helps them creating more wider opportunities. Liverpool also have 2 of the most attacking full backs in the Premier League with Clyne and Moreno; and will continue to take shots from far which could be parried away, or else overlap the midfielders and cross balls into the box.
This game might be a cagey one, and in those games, a lot of teams like to create crossing opportunities and none can be less than these 2; so I expect them to go over the line of 11 asian corners.
Leicester City come into this game against Newcastle on a good run of form, losing just 1 game in the Premier League all season. Leicester will hope for the continued form of their Top Premier League Goalscorer and Player of the month for October in Jamie Vardy to net a goal to continue his run of consecutive games with a goal. He will be partnered up front with Riyad Mahrez who will be looking to showcase to his manager also that he needs to start every game, to help the team create opportunities as well as score goals up front. Defensively Leicester have been shaky, conceding goals in all but 1 games this season, so there is every chance for them to draw many games because of that.
Newcastle have progressed a bit in the last few weeks, winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 1 game since the last international transfer break. McClaren finally seems to be getting through to his team and set up his team to firmly score goals against most opponents. Wjnaldium, Mitrovic and Perez have been the ones contributing their offence efforts and have started to gel well with each other to land goals in the last few games. The problem for Newcastle has been their defence especially since Tim Krul has gone down, which has made their goal extremely vulnerable.
I like Leicester to go to a vulnerable Newcastle and manage to secure a win, but because of their dodgy defence, I will take the insurance of Leicester DNB.
Barcelona head to this game against Real Madrid away from home with Lionel Messi a major doubt from this encounter. Barcelona have relied a lot of Neymar and Suarez in recent weeks to deliver the performance for them on the attacking side and they have consistently delivered on that front. Barcelona will need to take the points in this encounter away from home in order to extend their early lead against Real Madrid from 3 points to 6 points. Barcelona have shown to be extremely aggressive in the first half of any games, trying to secure that early goal, that has seen them gain many corners in that duration. Barcelona are averaging around 7 corners per game over the last 9 encounters, and especially in these tight encounters, it could be even more flowing football as they will look to gain any advantage. Real Madrid defence has been extremely dodgy where they have conceded an average of 5 corners per game for the entire season.
Real Madrid themselves have been attacking and with them not being in the best offence form, they have been taking a lot of shots from weird positions that has seen them average almost 7 comers per game especially over the last 6 encounters. Real Madrid full backs and in particular Marcelo more than Danilo have a habit of bombing down the wings and crossing balls, and a lot of them are cleared away for corner opportunities. The Barcelona defence has been a bit shaky in recent weeks, conceding in almost every game this campaign, and that is a result for them conceding almost 4 corners.
The games between the 2 sides have generally been cagey seeing 2-1 and 3-1 games last season, and the 2 games had over 11 corners in each of those games, and one can expect a similar situation in this encounter today.
This will be PSG’s first game after the attacks in France, and the good thing for the PSG team is that the game will be away from home, which will give them a better chance to concentrate on their performances. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani were all in form before the international break, and even managed to put in good performances for their respective countries during this break; which will give them confidence of going away to Lorient and grabbing a victory. PSG have won all but 1 game against Real Madrid all season, which shows you the great form that they have been in. They have won 7 straight games in Ligue 1; at least by a 1 goal margin; which will give them confidence to continue on their winning run.
Lorient are the home side but have struggled overall this campaign with a lot of drawn games, including dropping points from winning positions. Lorient have struggled against the better teams in Ligue 1 like St. Etienne, Lyon but managed to put in a good performance beating Monaco by a score of 3-2. Lorient will have troubles as they have 2 players Wesloub and Waris suspended from this encounter while Abdullah and Sy will be missing through injury.
PSG have won 5 straight games against Lorient; and will be aiming to replicate similar performances tonight to extend their 10 point margin at the top of the table.
Sevilla come into this game with massive confidence after beating Real Madrid in their last outing; and will be looking forward to replicating this success and rising up the table starting with tonight’s game against Sociedad. Sevilla under Unai Emery have won the Champions League last season, and while they have not been that good in Europe; they have certainly played better in La Liga; just 5 points of Champions League spot. Sevilla come into this game in great scoring form netting in their last 6 straight games including wins over Barcelona and Real Madrid. Up front they have 3 strikers in Immobile, Gameiro and Llorente; any of whom can perform the business on a given night in Emery’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
Real Sociedad are going through some turmoil after sacking David Moyes for his poor start to the campaign. Sociedad managed just 9 points in 11 games, which was extremely poor for them leaving them languishing in 16th with just 2 points above the drop zone. Eusebio Sacristán will take over as manager, and it will be interesting to see if he will be able to squeeze out more from the players who have already lost to poor sides like Las Palmas, Celta Vigo and Malaga in recent weeks. Agirretxe is in decent form netting 8 goals in 9 games; but the defence has been horrible conceding 14 goals in the 9 games that they have drawn or lost in.
Sevilla on the Draw NO Bet market is an extremely appealing price; which I think is hackable.
