The NBA season is back tonight, and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.
GS Warriors v SAC Kings – S Curry Over 29.5 points @ 1.85 (888Sport) – 2.5 points
The Golden State Warriors are a team in hot form led by their MVP Stephen Curry who now has scored 35.5 points per game so far. His success has been his teams success as he shows that he can score from anywhere. Even in the 2 games ago, when he went out early in the first quarter with 2 fouls against the LA Clippers, he came back to score 31 points in that game.
Why I think Curry will continue his red hot form, one because he is the MVP from last year; and he still has a point to prove to a lot of people, that he it wasn’t a fluke from last year. Secondly, Curry has not scored less than 25 points in any game except for the one against Houston Rockets, because he played less minuted because they dominated the game.
Curry is shooting 57% from the field and a remarkable 51% from 3-point territory. His 3-point hots made per game alone is around 6; which is 18 points. He also gets to the free-throw line around 6 times per game, which is another 6 points. So 24 points comes for him by just getting into his shooting stroke.
With Cousins missing in the defence, the only player who actually can play defines in their starting lineup is Rajon Rondo. The Kings are struggling and more so away from home playing really badly, and I expect Steph to dip more into their misery tonight.
ORL Magic -3.5 to beat PHI 76ers @ 1.85 (888Sport) – 2.5 points
The Magic have showed signs of playing well and kept the points loss to a maximum of 5 points and this will give them confidence that they are just a few key plays away from winning many games. Last night they totally shocked me when they over-took the Raptors in the final quarter and won the game by 5 points. They were led well by Tobais Harris who has been their leading scorer on the team and also chipping in with 16 points and 8 boards per game. They have a good starting lineup along with those 2 to include Oladipo, Gordon and Payton; all of whom are playing extremely well and could be headed for career year this campaign. While they have a few players who can play off the bench including Fournier, Smith, Watson and Hezonja. Their only major absence will be Vucevic who missed out the last game with an injury, and will miss a few more to recover from injury. Desmond, Frye and Smith will probably fill in rotationally to cover up until he recovers.
The 76ers are slowly starting to develop their players to gel together and will be looking forward to have a great team for years to come, that have been developed through the draft. After losing their first 2 games by 10 points; they have not lost a single game by more than 7. They have relied a lot on performances from their 2 bigs in Noel and Okafor averaging almost double doubles every night. Canaan and Stauskas are the 2 players that have also chipped in with double digit scores. The team is like a collection of the best college players, and need a year to develop.
I definitely think they are 2 All-Star players short of getting back into the playoffs; but at this time, I have to be backing the Magic to deliver a solid perfroamcen and win tonight.
