Back to SUPER SUNDAY for all our entertainment. One can expect this to be a truly great outing with some exciting encounters, which we look to make a profit out of.
Owing to their form of scoring goals and lots of them so far. They have netted 18 goals in 8 games in Serie A so far, and 29 goals in 10 games for the season including the Europa League shows you what they are capable of in front of the net. They smashed Milan by a score 4-0 2 match days ago, and have since beaten Lazio at home by a score of 2-1 and also won in the Europa League against Midtjyland 4-1.
The special form of Insigne has been the catalyst leading their scoring charts this season and he is well backed up by Mertens and Higuain up front to give a lot of threat to this Napoli lineup. Hamsik, Callejon and Allan continuously drive from midfield creating chances, scoring goals as well as making runs to draw defenders out of positions for the forwards to score. 16 out of the last 17 Serie A games involving Napoli have seen over 2.5 goals in their games, with the exception being one 0-0 draw played away to Carpi. Napoli have struggled defensively leaking goals in almost every game to concede 8 goals in 8 games played this campaign and even couldn’t stop lowly Midtjyland scoring against them in mid-week to re-iterate their struggles at the back.
Chievo comes into this game sitting firmly in mid-table and have managed to put in some good performances against teams like Juventus (1-1), Lazio (4-0) & Torino (1-0). They have managed to succeed because of their ability to find the back of the net. They have scored for themselves in 7 out of the 8 games so far led by Paloschi with 4 goals. Defensively they have been average so far, conceding in 6 out of the 8 games played so far. They have lost points from a few games by conceding late goals, and will find it a bit difficult against a Napoli team who is well tuned on the offensive side.
Both Napoli and Chievo will be looking for the goal, in particular Chievo who are playing at home and will count on some home crowd support to help them. Napoli in great scoring efforts, I expect this to be another goal fest, which tends to be the case with Napoli, but I am taking a bit of insurance on the Asian Goal line market.
Fiorentina and Roma head into this fixture in Florence as the top 2 teams in the Serie A at this stage; and while both were close to the top for a lot of the campaign last year, they landed up eventually losing to Juventus. Both teams will want to take advantage early on with the struggles that Juventus are facing, and I expect this to be a truly entertaining fixture.
Fiorentina come into this game with 2 losses on the trot, a 2-1 loss to Napoli and a 2-1 loss to Lech Poznan. What you can be sure off with Fiorentina is that you are always in-store for some goal scoring entertainment. Fiorentina have been playing some attractive attacking football and have scored 15 goals in 8 games in the Serie A so far; with 21 goals in 11 games across all competitions. They have a wealth of attacking talent with Kalinić and Iličić who have netted 8 out of the 15 goals scored while Babacar, Alonso and Błaszczykowski have also chipped in with goals. they also have the ever dangerous Rossi on their bench, who can always come on and make an impact.Their offence has seen them score in 15 straight Serie A games dating back to last season and in such a big game, one is going to expect them to find the net again this time around.
Roma who were generally known for some solid defence and then scoring the odd goal to win the game have now ramped up their offence with the signing of Dzeko, Salah to give company to Gervinho, Totti, Iturbe and Falque. From midfield they have the free-kick specialist in Pjanic along with Florenzi, Nainggolan and De Rossi who have chipped in with the goals to keep their offensive run going. Roma are the leading scorers in Serie A with 20 goals in the 8 games played so far and they have scored 2 goals in 6 out of their last 7 games played in all competitions. In mid-week in particular they showcased their full offensive ability after coming back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 against Leverkusen and then taking a 4-2 lead before conceding late on to draw 2-2.
Fiorentina’s games have seen them have over 2.5 goals in the 5 straight games, while the same can be said for Roma in their last 7 outings. This promises to be the best game this weekend in Serie A; and we can all certainly look for goals to entertain us in this encounter; so I back over 2.5 goals in this fixture.
When we head to the Manchester Derby, one thing is definitely promised for all the fans is pure entertainment from start to finish along with bits of controversy and some exciting goals.
Manchester United are looking in good form this season after losing a lot of credibility last year and barely making 4th spot in the league. This time around they sit in 3rd just 2 points behind Manchester City and are starting to look good on the offensive end. In the Premier League season, the Manchester United encounters have been entertaining with the last 6 straight games seeing over 2.5 goals in their encounters. Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and now Wayne Rooney have been leading the offensive efforts for the team, and one can expect all of them to start in this game to try and create more chances for Man Utd up front. Man Utd will know that Man City have leaked in 8 games, so they will look to take advantage of that as they look for a win. Defensively they have leaked in the games against the 2 big teams in Liverpool and Arsenal so far, and in this high pressure game, we could see City find the back of the net again.
Man City have been truly entertaining this season. Despite having a raft of injuries heading into this game with Silva, Aguero, Delph, Clichy & Nasri definitely missing; their other players have stepped up to the plate and none more so than Kevin De Bruyne. He has revitalised their offensive efforts where they he has provided 3 assists and 3 goals despite only starting since mid-September. They have netted now in all 13 games they have played in all competitions this campaign. They have strong wings with Sterling and Navas with a midfield crew of De Bruyne, Toure and Fernandinho to give support to Bony up front in this game. Defensively they have been struggling as I mentioned above that their last 8 straight games have seen them concede, with 10 out of the 13 games have seen over 2.5 goals scored in their encounters.
6 out of the last 8 games in the Manchester Derby have seen over 2.5 goals being scored as both teams like to put in their best efforts to win this game, and with Manchester United doing well the Old Trafford crowd is going to be vociferous in this encounter to put on a tremendous atmosphere and I go with the trend of these teams and expect more than 2.5 goals in this encounter.
Villareal had been having a good season being undefeated in 6 straight games, when they suddenly came crashing back down to earth losing 2 straight games against Levante and Celta Vigo. Manager Marcelino Garcia have already motivated his team and we could see them put in a solid performance with a 4-0 win in mid-week that will definitely bring confidence back to this group. Villareal have a solid offensive unit with Soldado, Baptistao and Bakambu who have been leading the line to score 13 goals in 8 games so far. They have already showcased their great ability with sold victories against Atletico Madrid, Athletico Bilbao and Malaga; and one would expect them to put in a solid performance against lowly Las Palmas.
Las Palmas have been horrible and are definitely a team that are going to get relegated after winning just 1 game from the 8 played so far. The problem stems from their defensive efforts where they have leaked goals in 6 out of those 8 games. Las Palmas have to rely on Araujo and Viera to find goals for them up front, and they have only hit 1 goal in each of the games. The team does not have enough La Liga experienced players in their team to get them through the grind of this tough campaign, and I expect their poor run to continue in this one.
I am pretty confident that Villareal get the victory, but I want to take a bit of insurance by using the Asian Handicap on Villareal.
