With the Euro2016 qualifying campaign now heading into the final stages; all the teams are looking to push for victory in order to secure their spot for next years 1st round proper in France. We look to grab some value form some good tips and make some money.
Poland and Ireland clash in the critical encounter that will determine who will get an automatic qualification spot for Euro 2016.
Poland will feel buoyed for coming back from behind in their last game against Scotland from 2-1 down to draw 2-2 and secure a point and sit in 2nd spot just 1 point behind Germany. Victory for them will guarantee them a spot in the finals for next year. Poland have been a good team this campaign scoring 31 goals and performances have been good throughout the campaign.
From the 31 goals netted by Poland a lot of credit must go to hit-man Robert Lewandowski who has netted 12 out of those in this campaign so far. Goals came against almost all sides barring Ireland in the campaign and will be looking to replicate his 2 goal performance in the last game against Scotland. He had been out of form until last month’s 3-1 loss to Germany when he finally netted a goal. Since then he has been in great form 17 goals in all competitions since then. He even netted 7 goal against Dortmund and Wolfsburg alone who are among the top teams in Germany to showcase that if he gets the service, he is not to be messed around with.
Ireland take on Poland with a sense of freedom, knowing that they have at least a playoff spot locked thanks to their incredible performance against Germany beating them 1-0. Germany were dominant for most of the game, but the lack of a quality goal scorer, set them back from finding a lot of goals to set them on their way to victory. Ireland has been largely miserly in defence throughout this campaign managed by Martin O’Neill and have only conceded 5 goals in their campaign so far. However, Ireland’s form away has been a worrying one for them to look into tonight considering this important fixture. Other than the victory against minnows Georgia & Gibraltar; the last away win came against more minnows in Kazkhstan and Faroe Islands back in 2012; and before that in 2011 against Estonia, Andorra and Macedonia. While the team boasts a great bunch of talent to help them get to this stage of the qualifying campaign; I fear their poor away record and the motivation for the Polish to seal this qualification at home might be a bit too much for them especially considering Poland’s goal scoring form in this campaign scoring against all sides.
Lewandowski’s has been in outstanding form, and a goal tonight can let him be the joint top scorer in Euro qualifying campaigns, while 2 goals will get him the outright record and I expect him to continue his march for goals especially in front of his home fans to seal automatic qualification to Euro 2016.
