This Sunday is truly a real SUPER SUNDAY with some of the top rivalries happening in the best leagues around Europe and I hope to find those lucrative gems in order to get some profit.
Manchester Untied travel away to Arsenal sitting at the top of the table and will have the pressure of Manchester City’s three points with crushing 6-1 win over Newcastle. United also have a lot of confidence behind them after winning in mid-week against Wolfsburg after going down 1-0 early on.
United have looked a different side since the signing of Martial; which leaves Rooney to play in the hole in the middle with Depay doing his thing no the left and the start of the campaign Mata on the right side. Mata has been in form scoring 3 goals and dishing out 3 assists in 7 games so far in the league. He has slowed down the pace a little, but has managed to find great creative options in order to deliver opportunities for the forwards to score. Offensively United have smashed 2 goals in 5 out of the last 6 games; and I think they will continue to roll the dice and create chances.
I also like United defensively since De Gea has signed on. While they have conceded a few goals, most of the mess has come from the left wing since the injury of Luke Shaw and also occasionally on the right wing with non-defensive minded Valencia sitting there. Smalling, Blind and Darmian in particular have been extremely good and I expect Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin to sit in little deeper to protect the back 4. They shouldn’t have too much trouble against an Arsenal side who have scored only 2 goals at home with Sanchez and Walcott mostly sitting up front.
That being said, Ozil, Cazorla and Ramsey to provide a reasonable foil for the Sanchez and Walcott to create opportunities for them to score goals. I expect Giroud might start up to take advantage of a lower sized Blind, but his form has been extremely lacklustre. What will hurt Arsenal more will be on the defensive end with Wilshere, Arteta, Rosicky, Welbeck, Flamini and Koscielny all out injured. Arsenal have conceded in their last 5 straight games, 9 goals in those games to be precise. More importantly the morale around Arsenal is extremely poor especially after the 2-3 loss to Olympiakos in mid-week Champions League game.
Arsenal will know that coming into this game, they have a point to prove by delivering a positive result; however, the form that Manchester United are playing at, it seems difficult for Arsenal to grab anything more than a draw. Manchester United will be looking to play with some swagger and freedom, and I think they will be able to grab a result for themselves either a win or a draw; and this price on the double chances represents great value.
England Premier League
Everton v Liverpool – Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.00 (BET365) – 2 points
Everton v Liverpool – Over 13.5 corners @ 2.00 (BET365) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Everton and Liverpool take on each other in the hostile Merseyside derby, which is come at an extremely critical stage in the Premier League season.
Everton are coming into this fixture sitting in 7th spot and have been in great form in recent weeks beating Chelsea and West Brom in thrilling encounters while also playing out two 0-0 games against Swansea and Tottenham. Everton in particular this season have only lost 1 game to Man City, but have played some good counter attacking football in the recent weeks led by Lukaku, Barkley, and Kone; all of whom have scored or assisted the other in delivering goals in order to secure positive results in those games. Part of maintaing clean sheets was having a fit John Stones in the recent weeks, however, he is injured along with Besic, Coleman, Hibbert, Pienaar, Cleverley, Baines and the suspended Mirallas. They have conceded goals in the big games so far against City and Chelsea, and against Liverpool; I expect this to be a very open game.
Liverpool have had some shocking results in recent weeks having drawn 4 out of their last 5 games in all competitions, that has seen them conceded in every single one of this games including in the Capital One Cup against lowly Carlisle. Liverpool have failed to put on positive results and this has put the job on the line for manager Brendon Rodgers who is facing a potentially game changing encounter tonight.
Liverpool will be having to welcome back Daniel Sturridge who got back into come goal scoring form in his return last week. Coutinho, Lallana and Milner have been in good form additionally coming into this game, and that will be needed if they are to push on for positive results. Numerous injuries including captain Henderson, Lovren, Firmino and Benteke leaves things a little unstable in their lineup. Liverpool have been struggling defensively, conceding a lot of goals in 7 straight games especially conceding 3 goals against Man Utd and West Ham while also conceding 2 against Aston Villa.
This game has all the makings of the classic on this Super Sunday and if Rodgers does not find 3 points; it could be him heading out the door, and one could expect nothing more than a lot of goal in this encounter of Liverpool need to get a result out of this games considering their recent run of conceding goals.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund take on each other in this top of the table clash that sees Dortmund 4 points behind Munich after getting 2 draws in a row to spoilt their good early season form and know that anything but victory will give Bayern a significant lead in the title race.
Bayern Munich are coming into this game on hot form after winning 10 straight games in all competitions to open up this season as the form team in Europe. Nothing have affected them during this off-season and have only strengthened their side further wide signings of Vidal and Douglas Costa; which have only made the team strong in the attacking sense. They now also have Lewandowski who is in the form of his life with 10 goals in 3 games. His form of 10 goals along with the form of Muller who has netted 6, has seen Bayern Munich score 19 goals with the reply of only 1 in their last 5 outings in all competitions.
If there was one team that Bayern has shown susceptibility towards, it has been Dortmund. Dortmund will come confident into this game knowing that they have scored in their previous 10 straight visits to the Allianz Arena and with Dortmund’s attacking flair that they have developed this season, one can expect something similar from them tonight.
Leading from the front has been Aubameyang who was the top scorer in the Bundesliga until Lewandowski ran riot in the last 2 games. Aubameyang has netted 9 goals in 7 games so far and is looking to continue his form as the first player to score in 8 straight games to open up the season in the Bundesliga. He hasn’t been alone in his quest for great performances this season as Mkhitaryan (3 goals), Kagawa (2 goals) and Reus (2 goals) have also chipped in with notable goals at critical times. Dortmund know that they have a tough task ahead of them, but new manager Tuschel has set them up to attack on the counter and with pace, and this flair has seen Dortmund score a goal in every single came so far, and I expect more of the ams tonight.
Form will always be on Bayern’s side for this game especially playing in front of their home fans, but I expect Dortmund to put in a good showing and find the back of the net, and thats why I back over 2.5 goals along with both of them to score.
While there is being a lot being made up about Super Sunday in all the top leagues in Europe, I switch to Italy where there is a great opportunity of a winner to be made in an encounter between Milan and Napoli.
Milan came into this season having spent a lot of money to sign Bacca, Adriano and Balotelli as their 3 new strikers who could help them get the goals that they were so desperately missing last time around. While that has definitely improved in their performances, they still haven’t managed to gather too many positive results. They have however, started to make San Siro a fortress by winning 2 straight games at home. During those 2 games have been 3-2 v Palermo and a 2-1 win over Empoli. While those are no pushovers, it will give the fans something to cheer about in this first big game of the season in front of their home fans. Their poor form has come away from home, where they lost 3 out of 4 without even scoring, but home comforts should be good enough to find a goal to possibly even push for victory in this encounter.
Napoli will clearly be the favourite of this encounter, especially owing to their form of scoring goals and lots of them so far. They have netted 12 goals in 6 games in Serie A so far, and 19 goals in 8 games for the season including the Europa League shows you what they are capable of in front of the net. Last weekend they put in a top performance by beating Juventus by a score of 2-1; and thats not to forget that they were in control for most of the game.
Up front Napoli boast a host of talent with the likes of Insigne, Mertens and Higuain up front along with a supporting cast including Hamsik, Callejon, Lopes & Gabbiadini to give them additional firepower. However, on the defensive end they still continue to struggle conceding regularly with a back 4 of Albiol, Chirches, Maggio and Hysaj; and with Reina in goal who is also struggling. 14 out of the last 15 Serie A games involving Napoli have seen over 2.5 goals in their games, with the exception being a 0-0 draw played over 10 days ago; their are always out to entertain the fans.
4 out of the last 6 meetings between these 2 teams has seen at least 3 goals in them, so I expect this run of scoring to continue and for these 2 sides to provide us with terrific entertainment tonight.
