We are back for the last Soccer Saturday before the international break; so I have frisked the fixtures to find some good gems to make some profit here.
England Premier League
Man City v Newcastle – Aguero Score/Man City WIN @ 1.84 (888Sport) – 2.5 points
Sergio Aguero started finding his feet with a goal to lead his team to victory against Monchengladbach in the UEFA Champions League figure in mid-week; and he will be aiming to continue doing so in this fixture as his team welcome Newcastle.
Newcastle have been struggling with 4 successive losses in the league until they grabbed a point against Chelsea in their last encounter. What was surprising is that they were 2-0 up, and then they conceded the 2 goals to draw the game at 2-0. Newcastle are definitely the worst for form in the Premier League, where they have only won 1 game since March, that too on the last day of the season to survive. Their biggest problem has been defensively where they continue to concede a lot of goals. Newcastle are going to be missing a lot of players including Colback, Haidara, Taylor, Dummett, Aarons, Cisse and Riveiere; many of whom would be in their starting lineup considering they would all be fit. When it comes to the goal scoring exploits Wjnaldum and Perez have been the ones leading the way for them, and they have hardly looked threatening that a team like Man City will be worried about.
City will be charged up after grabbing a victory against Gladbach in the Champions League to get over with their misery from the Premier League loss by a score of 4-1 to Tottenham. Mangala is now fit again and he should look to partner Otamendi at the back aiming to keep a clean sheet. In the midfield Yaya Toure is definitely going to miss out, which will see us have a probably midfield of Silva, De Bruyne & Sterling with Ageuro up front to contend and push on for a lot of goals. De Bruyne in particular has re-adjusted to life in the Premier League very easily creating and scoring in the 2 games he has been involved in. Aguero in particular will look for the great service in order to push on and continue his goal scoring exploits. Also for Man City, Aguero is the most likely to score a penalty and last season in 18 games played, they got 6 penalties; so if there is a chance for a penalty against this week Newcastle defence, you can be sure Aguero will back look to score it.
England Premier League
Norwich City v Leicester City – Over 2.5 goals & BTTS @ 2.00 (BET365) – 3 points
Norwich and Leicester City have truly entertained this season in the Premier league; taking the attack to all opponents and that has seen them been exposed at the back, which leave them vulnerable to conceding goals.
Leicester City have been truly entertaining with 29 goals coming in their 7 games so far and hadn’t lost a game until last week in the 5-2 thrashing to Arsenal. Leicester have scored 15 goals in those 7 games and they have been led by top goal scorer, YES, TOP GOAL SCORER JAMIE VARDY who has netted 6 goals so far and also 2ND TOP GOAL SCORER RIYAD MAHREZ who has netted 5 goals. Both of them have been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League, playing with some flair and freedom and Ranieri has them set up to go for goals. That has seen them concede goals in every game this campaign; with Ranieri offering his team Pizza if they keep a clean sheet, and then increasing that offer to Pizza and Beer. With Albrighton, Vardy and Mahrez always striving to go forward, it leaves them a bit vulnerable at the back defensively on the counter attack. I expect more of the game in their performance where they will score but also concede.
Norwich City are the home team and will have the fans in their corner to try and help them deliver a positive result against a fellow mid-table rival. Norwich have seen their games have had 23 goals in 7 games so far, and much like Leicester play the same expansive football looking for goals led by Hoolahan, Redmond and also through set pieces from defender Russell Martin. Norwich defensively have been shaky conceding in all of their Premier League game so far this season, but have managed to get some results with 1 win and 2 draws in their last 3 games. Norwich have put in a good performance against West Ham to draw 2-2 last time around; and will be hoping to get a victory in front of their home fans. Their defensive vulnerability means I think they will continue to concede, but they have found their way to score when they have netted in 6 out of the 7 games so far this campaign.
Both these teams have played entertaining fixtures and its no surprise this is my top pick of the weekend with over 2.5 goals to be scored and both teams to involved in it.
Chelsea will be looking to turn around their poor season, which has seen them sit in 14th spot with just 8 points from 7 games, and Mourinho will know that his team needs to turn around their form and fortunes in order to stay alive in the title hunt for the Premier League. With Diego Costa banned, Chelsea will need to rely a lot on Remy, Willian, Hazard and Pedro as their front 4 to provide goal scoring impetus for them as that has been their biggest issues coming into this game.
Chelsea have also been struggling defensively keeping only 1 clean sheet in the league from their last 7 games, which was against 9-man Arsenal, who were unlucky to have results against them. Mourinho has kept on chopping and changing his lineup a lot, which has seen a lot of instability at the back. One can expect Mourinho to lineup with Azpilecueta, Terry, Cahill and Baba Rahman for tomorrow’s game to put on a stronger lineup as they go in search of their 2nd clean sheet.
Chelsea won’t have it that easy when Southampton come to town, who despite their early season struggles, are slowly getting back in to the rhythm that they were in during the last campaign. They dished out a solid 3-1 beating of Swansea last weekend, while narrowly losing out 2-3 to Man United and grabbing another 2 draws and a victory since their 3-0 thrashing they received from Everton. Their turnaround of fortunes has been a result of the goalscoring exploits of Pelle, Mane and Tadic. Their defensive struggles have been there due to a lot of injuries and chopping and changing by Koeman. The back line have been guilty of not maintaining their line and the teams catching them cold through silly mistakes. They will be keen to go to Stamford Bridge and upset the champions when they are at their most vulnerable now.
Matches between these 2 teams have seen 2 goals scored in 6 straight games since Southampton have been back in the Premier League, while 4 out of the last 6 have seen a minimum of 3 goals landing. Those stats along with the poor defences in both lineups conceding goals is my reason for backing the Asian line with the 2,2.5 goals for this encounter.
England Premier League
West Ham DRAW NO BET to beat Sunderland @ 1.75 (888Sport) – 3 points
Sunderland v West Ham – Over 3.5 Goals @ 2.00 (Bet365) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
West Ham come into this game against Sunderland after some positive results especially away from home after beating Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
West Ham currently sit in the 3rd spot in the Premier League; and honestly much of the credit has to go to Slaven Bilic and how he has set up his team to break really well on the counter attack and take advantage of any opportunity that the opponents might provide. West Ham’s attacking flair is seen in their goal scoring efforts, where they are the joint top scorers in the Premier League with 15 goals along with Leicester.
Diafra Sakho, Dimitri Payet and Chiekou Kouyate have been leading their scoring 9 goals amongst them, primarily most of them coming on the counter attack. Payet in particular is a threat off set pieces as he can score of direct free-kicks as well as create assists for his teams as well.Defensively they have been reasonably tight scoring conceding just 1 goal away from home, and the freedom they have away from their home fans is very clear for all to see.
Sunderland have been struggling and sitting rock bottom of the table, and they were in the relegation zone for most of last season. The only points they have picked up have been draws against Leicester and Aston Villa. Defensive issues has been the struggle for Sunderland where they have conceded 16 goals in 7 games. No matter how much they have chopped and changed at the back, their concentration levels have been pretty poor as was seen last week at Old Trafford; where they kept a clean sheet for 45 minutes and then conceded 3 goals in the remaining 45 minutes with a goal 1 minute either side of the half time whistle.
Attacking towards the front they have only netted 6 goals in 7 games so far and have failed to net in either of the last 3 games. Rumors also swirling around is that Dick Advocaat is probably going to quit after this game no matter what the result; and that should get the squad down on morale as well.
They have many injury concerns and poor form on their side, so this price to back West Ham on the DRAW NO BET market is a true gift.
Torino come into this game in hot form sitting in 3rd spot in the league with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss for 13 points; just 2 behind Inter and Fiorentina. Torino will thank their goal scoring exploits for this form where they have smashed 11 goals in the 6 games played so far. They can thank their goal scoring form to Quagliarella with 4 goals and Baselli with 3 goals, who have led from the front. Torino have managed to hit 2 goals in 5 out of their last 6 games except for the 1-0 loss to Chievo a few weeks ago which stopped them from probably going top of the table by now. When it comes to scoring Torino have been right there only not scoring goals in 4 games out of 27 games since January.
Carpi are the new side that have been promoted from Serie B and are currently sitting rock bottom with 2 points from 6 games. Defensively they are absolutely horrible conceding 15 goals in the 6 games played so far, and that won’t help them survive the relegation battle at all. They kept surprisingly one clean sheet against Napoli and conceded 1 goal to Fiorentina, but conceded 2 goals to Inter, Palermo while conceding 5 goals to Roma and Sampdoria. Carpi would have put pressure on their opponents had they been able to score, but have only netted 1 goal in their last 3 games, to showcase their struggles in front of the net.
Torino are coming into this game with some great form, and this is a gem of a price to score 2 goals for Torino tonight.
