Roma to beat BATE Borisov @ 1.91 (Bet365) – 3 points
Roma Over 1.5 goals @ 1.91 (Bet365) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Roma travel away Borisov for this mid-week Champions League encounter, knowing that they will need to continue winning in order to keep up pace with in a tough group that includes Leverkusen and Barcelona.
Roma will feel extremely confident of getting 5-1 win under in their belt in the Serie A last time around, that can keep their momentum going into this game especially after Leverkusen thrashed BATE by the score of 4-1. Roma will however miss 3 key players coming into this game in the form of Totti, Dzeko and Keita who are all out through various injuries. Roma will feel confident that Iturbe, Gervinho, Salah and Pjanic have all been in goal scoring touch heading into this game. Florenzi and Digne on the wings have also been getting into attacking positions finding the goals in recent weeks as well as creating good crossing opportunities for their fellow country men.
BATE while losing badly to Leverkusen, have come back to win in their domestic league. What would probably worry them is that both this victories came in narrow wins by a solitary goal in their league; which will not bode a lot of confidence coming into this high profile game against Roma. BATE knew from the beginning seeing this draw, that they were going to be tagged as the pushovers, and they have their chance to prove everyone wrong in front of their home fans tonight. With a poor squad compared to some other teams that they have in the tournament as well as who they have faced in the qualifying rounds; BATE can feel actually privileged to be here and have 6 games the top teams in Spain, Italy and Germany to contend with.
I think Roma should run out comfortable winners here, and should they fail to do so, it can be disastrous for their Champions League qualification to the knockout stages.
Zenit to beat Gent @ 1.69 (888Sport) – 3 points
Zenit v Gent – Hulk to score @ 2.33 (888Sport) – 1.5 points
Zenit entertain Gent in cold mother Russia tonight aiming to make it 2 wins from 2 after thrashing Valencia at home. After the 3-2 win against Valencia, they have struggled in domestic competition drawing twice in the league and needing extra time in the Cup to go through. One could say their mind was solely focussed in making it to the next round of the competition, having won the Russian League last year. The Russians will be counting on home conditions in cold Russia, where teams generally tend to struggle when they travel there. Additionally, the Russian side boast a talented group of players including Hulk, Shatov, Danny, Witsel, Garcia, Garay, Lombaerts, Criscito among the few who will be looking to take the game to the oppositions.
Gent are travelling away where they have struggled in European competition, losing all 3 group stage games in the Europa League in 2010/11. While they have come out of that game in good form, travelling away to Russia has not been easy for any Belgian teams who have lost all 5 matches played against Zenit in the past. Gent were lucky to grab only a draw after being brought down to 9 men, and will not feel it confident with Dejaegere and Foket; both their right side players missing, which will give an opportunity for them to be exploited by Hulk when he switches over to that flank.
The Russian side come into this game full of confidence and definitely backing them on the asian handicap is decent value.
Chelsea to score v Porto @ 1.91 (Bet365) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
