As all the major leagues are now kicked off, we have far more varieties of markets to play in as we look forward to the football action on Super Sunday and turn around the poor form from last Saturday.
Italian Serie A
Inter Milan to beat Carpi @ 1.83 (Bet365) – 3 points
Inter Milan look extremely strong in their last outing against Atalanta and were unlucky only to win by just a single goal. They have really strengthened their team this year with a lot of offensive power; adding the likes of Jovetic on top of Icardi and Palacio to give them more options of goals. They have also added Kondogbia in the midfield and Miranda in defence, which will give them added experience.
Under Mancini the side look more organised, more threatening moving forwards as well as playing strong possession football, where they held over 60% possession and created a host of chances, but were unlucky to finish off one only. Inter will want to take advantage of the mixed results by their fellow rivals Milan, Roma, Juventus and Napoli; but grabbing 2 victories to go up for 6 out of 6 wins.
Carpi are a new side anew ill take some time to settle down in the Serie A against quality opponents. They started off their campaign in poor fashion by losing by a score of 5-2 against Sampdoria. The only reason they actually scored 2 is the poor defence of Sampdoria in this regard. Carpi conceded 5 goals from the 10 shots on target by Sampdoria; showing there is a lot of leakage of shots on target and if opponents get an opportunity, looks like 50% of the time they have a chance to score.
Inter Milan will come in confident mood to this game, and I believe they will start off in flying fashion with another 3 points and the victory tonight.
Napoli v Samporia – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.75 (10Bet) – 2 points
Napoli will take on Sampdoria this week hoping to turn around their fortunes after a 2-1 loss away from home to Sassuolo last week around.
Napoli have managed to secure the services of Pepe Reina in goal; but since his lack of playing football regularly and his ageing days, you can see him leaking goals consistently. In fact Napoli lost most of their pre-season games owing due their poor defensive efforts with a back 4 of Albiol, Chirches, Maggio and Hysaj. Up front Napoli boast a host of talent with the likes of Insigne, Mertens and Higuain up front along with a supporting cast including Hamsik, Callejon, Lopes & Gabbiadini to give them additional firepower. When we look back at last season, Napoli’s games going back to April, which is now 10 games has seen them go for a minimum of 3 goals in each of those games, so when can expect entertainment tonight.
Sampdoria showed that if they get a glimmer of a chance they will make the opposition pay, much as they had when they smashed Carpi by a score of 5-2 last time around. Sampdoria will want to improve on the 7th place performance from last year where they upset many teams including Inter, Roma, Fiorentina, Genoa & Torino; while keeping draws with teams like Juventus, Milan & Udinese. Their 2 strikers netted a brace each in Muriel and Eder; and both are good strikers for mid-table teams and one can expect them to look to put up goals tonight against a Napoli team who hasn’t found their feet yet.
The last 3 fixtures between these teams have been entertaining with a 4-2 Napoli win, 1-1 draw and a 5-2 Napoli win; which encourages that there will be goals in this game between the 2 teams.
France Ligue 1
PSG to beat Monaco @ 2.00 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
PSG travel away to Monaco who were just beaten out in the Champions League over 2 legs by Valencia and were struggling to create any offence in their efforts to overturn the deficit they got from the 1st leg.
PSG will be extremely excited to get in their lineup today potentially Di Maria, Cavani and Ibrahimovic and Moura; which will add a new dimension of attacking prowess to the team. Both di Maria and Ibra are expected to make their season debuts today after shaking of injuries, and that should be enough to get the Monaco team, who are struggling worried about these busy on paper itself. While PSG haven’t put that wow of performances, they have done just enough in both games in order to secure the full 3 points without conceding a goal, and they will aim to repeat a similar performance against Monaco tonight.
Monaco have really struggled to find that focal point in their team who will land up scoring most of the goals for them. Sharaaway has just signed for them, but will still take some time get used to playing in front of less than 10,000 people on average while the other players in Traore, Toulalon, Bakayoko, Cavaleiro and Bernard have yet to find their groove in order to help this team win. Monaco will be forced to contend with the Europa League this campaign; which will add more to their misery than satisfaction coming into the new season. Monaco shots on target have been low in most of their appearances and have been leaky at the back conceding in all of their games this season bar a 0-0 draw with Lille.
Stats, performances and history shows that when these 2 teams meet, they have played out 6 consecutive draws in the league; while PSG knocked out Monaco from the Coupe de France by a score of 2-0; and will be looking to ensure that victories come their way moving forward starting tonight.
Dortmund v Hertha – Over 3 Asian Goal Line @ 1.78 (Bet365) – 3 points
Dortmund come into this game full of confidence especially on the goal scoring front with them already smashing 27 goals in 7 games so far; which is an average of 3.5 goals per game so far this campaign. Aubamayeng, Mikhtaryian, Reus have been leading the scoring for them in the league with 2 goals each and will be aiming to replicate similar form. Their goal difference is keeping them at the top of the Bundesliga, and another win tonight will continue to keep them there. Dortmund got a morale boosting 7-2 against Odd in the Europa League on Thursday night, while also managing to rest a lot of their players to be fit for this game.
Hertha have been average so far this campaign, winning 1 and drawing 1 for 4 points so far. What is helping them is their ability to score at least a goal a game to give them a chance. Kalou has been the new addition to their team, and managed to find the back of the net so far along with Stocker. One will expect them to struggle away from home, much like they had last campaign as well, where they won just 3 out of their 17 away games, while conceding 30 goals during that time.
Matches between the 2 sides have been tight over the years; but the new attacking flair of Dortmund, and Hertha ability to find the net, we should expect to find goals in this entertaining fixture tonight.
