WELCOME BACK! The Barclays Premier League as well as several other leagues around Europe will kick off this Saturday and that means a return to regular betting for us with the money making season to begin.
Everton will take a lot of confidence coming into this game especially after a strong win in the Capital One Cup after coming back from a 2-0 deficit against Barnsley. While many people might think they will be tired, they actually rotated the squad quite well coming into this game. Everton have finally got Lukaku in scoring form and along with the support provided by Barkley & Kone; Everton look quite solid going forward.
Defensively Everton have struggled a bit, conceding in all of their games, bar the Southampton game where they kept a solid clean sheet. With Stones quite clearly going to stay for this season as an Everton player, Jagielka & him will have to get their act together this weekend to keep a solid back line.
Tottenham have had their struggles especially with Harry Kane struggling, and in my opinion I think he is struggling with some niggle, as he was even substituted early last week. Kane needs also some support but with no recognised striker other than him on their roster, this looks extremely difficult for them to come up with the goals. They have drawn 2 straight games against Leicester and Stoke City after luckily going in the lead in both games, but the defensive pairing of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Walker and Davies have struggled in their understanding and have continued to concede goals in all their fixtures.
This should be a tight fixture but I see the confidence coming through in Everton now, and its worth the price to back them on the DRAW NO Bet against a Tottenham side who are really struggling to pick up a result.
Chelsea WIN & over 2.5 goals to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.90 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Chelsea have started out the season in decent form, struggling to grab points getting only 4 points in their last 3 games. They have drawn against Swansea City, lost to Man City and Won last week against West Brom. In all those games they have leaked goals and with Crystal Palace coming to town with some positive results, things can go either way in this game.
Chelsea have signed Pedro and that suddenly looks good for Hazard and Costa as they are able to get plenty of service and we saw them getting more involved in the action against West Brom. This also gives the ability for a player like Willian to still improve and keep his place in the side while keep Ivanovic at the back as Pedro is quick enough to beat many left backs in their opponents. Chelsea will have Zouma & Cahill at the back and this focus for Chelsea will be on a clean sheet, but since this pair haven’t had a great deal of understanding and games between them, there could be an outside chance that Crystal Palace find the back of the net, as they have have scored in every game so far.
Crystal Palace have been shaky at the back, leaking a goal in every single game with Alan Pardew managing to keep only 2 clean sheets at home in the 20 that he has taken charge for Palace. They will be a bit tired after playing 120 minutes in mid-week in the Capital One Cup; and they were also 1-0 down and had to come back to try and win this. Palace have been unable to rely on one single player to deliver the goals as they have had Zaha, Ward, Delaney, Dunn, Cabaye and Sako to deliver goals from them; and unless Wickham, Gayle or Murray can be consistent up front; things could get difficult for Palace moving forward.
I think there will be over 2.5 goals either Chelsea looking for another strong performance netting 3; or even Palace sneaking 1 goal for Chelsea to then come out with a victory. So I will back Chelsea to win over 2.5 goals.
Manchester City look to be on a roll with 3 wins out of 3; and will be looking forward to finding the back of the goal especially with newly promoted side coming to town in Watford. Sergio Aguero was extremely unlucky not to find the back of the net in the last game, but he will be looking for goals he will have his home fans to count on in this game. Service has not been a problem for Aguero with the likes of Silva, Toure, Navas, Sterling and Kolarov all creating chances on a regular basis for the Argentinian forward, who will need to be at his best and looking to catch up on the goals this season. Manchester City have also maintained a good defensive record so far, not conceding a single goal and the return to form of Kompany and Hart is a big factor for the team to keep things tight at the back.
Watford will rely a lot on captain Deeney to come out with the goals for them, but they have been unable to find the back of the net in their last 3 games. Their lack of scoring saw them getting dumped out of the Capital One Cup in mid-week by lowly Preston North End away from home. Watford lack a lot of experience in the defensive side with Cathart, Prodil, Nyom and Holebas as their back 4; and they have not faced a truly attacking team until tomorrow when they take on Manchester City.
I expect Aguero to get back to his best and find the back of the net in a comfortable Man City win tomorrow.
Aberdeen AH-1 to beat Patrick @ 2.40 (BetVictor) – 2.5 points
Aberdeen travel away to Partick who have been one of the most struggling teams in the league and failed to score a single goal in the league so far.
Aberdeen have been in good form grabbing 12 points from a maximum of 12; and have built around some solid form conceding just the solitary goal in all those games so far, while netting 7 goals in that period. Adam Rooney has hit form scoring 3 goals from the 7 netted and will be looking forward to replicating his success against one of the poorer sides in the division. A win today will put Aberdeen at the top with a 100% record just like Hearts; and will be putting additional pressure on Celtic who have Thursday night football to look forward to in the coming season.
Partick are terrible, not registering shots on targets in some games also. Losing in mid-week in the cup to Championship side Falkirk could be considered a real low point in their season so far, and the side’s morale could be low heading into this fixture. They have got smashed 3-0 by Hearts and 2-0 by Celtic, who are the 2 teams above Aberdeen in the table; and one could expect a similar kind of mauling in this encounter as Aberdeen come to town.
Im backing Aberdeen on the Asian Handicap, and incase they win by only 1 goal; at least you get a refund on your investment.
