England Premier League

Man Utd v Tottenham – Rooney Anytime Scorer @ 2.23 (888Sport) – 2 pointsFootball_888sport betting £

Manchester United kick off the new season at home against Tottenham, which has proven to be an exciting encounter over the years. This time the onus for Man United will be on captain Wayne Rooney. Rooney is finally getting back to playing where he wants to play, leading the Manchester United front line, where he feels he can do the most damage against their opponents. With a lot of changes happening at Manchester with the departure of van Persie, Falcao & Di Maria; the onus is now on Rooney as the main recognisable striker for the team.

Rooney will feel much better to perform as he will get a lot of good service this year with Depay and Mata right behind him and the potential of Pedro also on the wings to help him out. Creating through the midfield you have Herrera, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger who can also help out to create from deep. While Rooney will be expected to get a lot of service, he also will be the leading light for Manchester United whilst taking Penalties and free-kicks which will give him plenty of chances to score.

The Manchester United captain has always felt accountability for his team and puts in 110% effort every time he is on the pitch; and this season he has to be their hit-man to deliver 20+ goals if they are to mount a challenge for the title, and that will start today against Tottenham.

Crystal Palace DNB to beat Norwich @ 2.08 (Bet365) – 2.5 points

Crystal Palace turned around their season from the appointment of former Palace legend in Alan Pardew. Since then he has really spent a lot of effort to recruit top players and strength the team to mount a challenge for the top half of the table. They have signed Yohan Cabaye, Connor Wickham and Patrick Bamford to improve on their offensive skill set for the coming season. This firepower in addition to their existing bunch of young but now experienced players including Puncheon, Campbell, Zaha, Bolaise, Bannan, Mutch. They also have a strong defensive line led by Dann, Hangeland, Ward, Kelly and Mariappa who all now have a good season of Premier League experience under their belt, to help them cope up with the the coming season.

Norwich have recently been promoted and have sticked to a lot of the talent that helped get them promoted form last season including Martin, Hooper, Johnson, Jerome, Turner, Bassong, Redmon, Mulumbu, Olsson who were part of their relegation battle 2 years ago; and now come out stronger after getting promoted from the Championship. Manager Alex Neil took this side from mid-table in January to the playoffs and ultimately getting promoted from division, but he fails to have experience at the Premier League level to take his team to good heights.

Norwich also did not have a very good pre-season, with games mainly against lower opposition then them, so they have not really been tested out to be ready for the Premier League. Norwich also leaked a lot of goals against poor oppositions in those games, which showcases a bit of vulnerability in their back line. Make no mistake that the Norwich fans will make Carrow Road a very hostile environment especially in their 1st game back in the Premier League, in what Norwich will reckon is a team that they can nab points off.

Backing Palace on the Draw No Bet market seems to make a lot of sense, since they have a lot of experience in their ranks, some good forwards and will take in a lot of confidence to put in a good start to the season to avoid any fears of a relegation battle again this campaign. I personally even think Palace might leak out a victory.
