With the major divisions in Europe already tied up their leagues; we go to the lower divisions in order to find opportunities to tackle.
Scotland Premiership Playoff
Motherwell v Rangers – Over 11 corners @ 1.91 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Motherwell have almost survived for another season in the Premiership ahead of Rangers, which would have been the dream fairy tale for the Glasgow side. A stupendous performance in the first leg, already saw Motherwell go ahead with a 3-1 lead on aggregate, leaving it all to do for Rangers in this second leg.
The first leg so both teams going to attack from the get go; whipping balls into the box in order for their forward to latch on to the headers to find the back of the net. Rangers relied on Vukic, Wallace and Foster mainly to through in balls in the box for Miller and Clark to try and latch on. While that resulted in a late goal for McGregor; the Rangers forward will need to make much more of an effort with those balls to put more of them in the back of the net
Motherwell took full advantage of set pieces and corners to secure those 3 goals for them, which puts them in the drivers seats. They know that 1 goal today, will leave the task hard for Rangers to do, need to net 4 goals past them to secure promotion to the Premiership. Motherwell will probably start a little more defensively of the two, looking to clear out any balls that land up in the box with them in order to not concede and keep Rangers at bay. That will make Rangers get more expansive with the balls, leaving opportunities for Motherwell to break down the defense on the counter, much like they did many teams on Thursday night.
When these teams met on Thursday, we saw a plethora of corner kicks, 20 to be precise, and since that day I have immediately waited for this market to come back on in order to back over 11 corners. With both teams looking to show attacking intent as well as trying to stop other team from conceding, corners usually land up as the outcome of such situations. I think we should definitely see 12 tonight.
Spain Segunda Division
Real Betis to beat Tenerife @ 4.33 (BetVictor) – 1.5 points
Real Betis have already qualified to the Premiera Division; and now would want to secure a victory in this game in order to seal up the title as well. Betis have put on truly dominating displays coming into this fixture having lost just 1 game since 21st of December on their way to success and return back to La Liga.
Real Betis can thank Ruben Castro for staying with the team despite the relegation last year to help them netting 32 goals this campaign out of the 73 that the team have netted. He was already a stand out player for them in La Liga last campaign and now he has shown that the Segunda division is a bit beneath his quality. His team mate Molina also put in great scoring efforts netting 19 goals; which together with Castro accounted for 70% of the teams goals. Since the 5th of April; Betis has netted 2 goals in every single game, which just shows you the confidence and form that the team are in.
Tenerife have been extremely poor for most of this season, and now that finds them 2 places above the drop zone. If results go their way, they can still survive without a victory; but the market is expecting some sort of fix here; which I really don’t think possible considering the current form that Tenerife are in. They have just won 1 games since 29th of March; and the number of draws that they have been involved in, far out passes the number of wins secured. Only 25% of their games have landed up in victory; while netting only netted 36 goals in 40 games; just showcases what a struggle it has been for them.
While the market expects a strong fix in this game considering Betis are already home and dry; I expect them to showcase and put in a good performance particularly led by Ruben Castro.
