Super Sunday is the day with the top teams across Europe in encounters looking to seal up winning positions in their respective leagues.
England Premier League
Aston Villa to beat Burnley @ 2.12 (Betfair) – 2 points
Aston Villa and Tim Sherwood would love to sign off this season with a win to showcase to their fans that there is plenty of optimism around Villa Park for 2015/16. More than anything, Aston Villa need to put in a solid performance after last weeks humiliating loss to Southampton by a score of 6-1. Christian Benteke had come into this fixture after being the only scorer, and Villa will look to him to score in front of their home fans, in what could potentially be his last game in a Villa shirt. Grealish, Delph, Westwood, Bacuna are among the few who will like to showcase the good performance after they have had great seasons and will be looking to negotiate better deals in the summer.
Burnley have nothing to look forward to especially after being condemned for relegation a few weeks ago. Nontheless they held up for a 0-0 draw against Stoke City last week while beating Hull City the week before to show their fans that there is plenty look forward to for the next season in the Championship. However, the goal against Hull City was the only goal they scored in over 2 months; and with that kind of form, you aren’t going to survive the drop zone no matter how good you are defensively.
Aston Villa are been in great form with the exception of the poor loss to Southampton, and I expect them and Sherwood to give the fans something really exciting to cheer about.
Everton v Tottenham – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.75 (Betfair) – 2.5 points
Everton welcome Tottenham who are in search of a win to secure the final Europa League spot from England and nothing but a win will secure that for them. Everton on the other hand have had a poor season, but would like to win to cement their top 10 spot for this season.
Everton fans will be particularly unhappy about the way they had performed especially since they committed a lot of energy towards the Europa League; and didn’t focus on progressing in the Premier League. This summer will involve a lot of rebuilding for them, but before that will have a run out of their best possible team in order to showcase their talents and see who Martinez wants to keep in the summer. Lukaku, Mirallas, Barkley will have plenty to prove up front considering their not consistent form this campaign. While they lost to Aston Villa and Sunderland, they rebounded back with a solid performance against West Ham last week winning 2-1 after going a goal down.
Tottenham will want to get that European place, and will have all their big hitters in place, looking for a solid win to secure it as Southampton and Liverpool are battling it out also for that spot. While Tottenham won last time out against Hull City, their recent poor exploits; saw them struggle their way towards this position. The end of season poor form of Harry Kane definitely has to blame, as they have struggled to win games when he hasn’t found the back of the net. Harry will know that this game is the biggest one for the club in a while, and nothing but a victory will do for this team to sign off to grab Europe in style.
Defensively however, both teams have been extremely poor in recent weeks, conceding for fun, and with both teams looking to go all out for victory in this game, one can expect an exciting game and thats why you should go for a backing of Over 2.5 goals in the game.
