Spain La Liga
Almeria v Valencia – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.51 (Pinnacle) – 3 points
Almeria v Valencia – Over 5.5 goals @ 1.80 (Betfair) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Valencia travel away to Almeria knowing that they require at minimum a victory in order to sow up their Champions League spot this season, especially knowing that Sevilla will be hot on their heels, with a bit of distraction on the Europa League Finals. Valencia last week almost slipped to a bad loss before they stole a 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Almeria on the other hand are battling the relegation zone, and know nothing less than a victory can keep them alive. So this promises to be an exciting encounter.
Almeria will be going for goals from the get go. They have lost a lot of their last few games that has seen them come to this position; failing to pick up not more than 2 wins in their last 15 games. They took the lead early last week against Valencia, but then conceded 2 goals late on and lost the game by 2-1. For the season, Almeria’s defense has been among the worst, conceding the 2nd highest goals in the Liga with 61. 8 out of their last 10 games has seen at least 3 goals involved, and with them going for it for survival, this will open up a lot of spaces also for Valencia to attack.
Valencia slipped up last week and their form has been sketchy in recent weeks and their games have been high scoring games with 3 goals in 4 out of their last 7 games. That doesn’t mean to say they didnt have enough chances to score, but were unable to put in the finishing touches. Valencia will have to rely a lot on Alcacer, Peugo, Feghouli and Parejo to create the chances and the goals in order to win this game.
Meeting between these teams have seen at least 3 goals been scored in 6 straight games; and with soo much on the line tonight; one can expect much of the same in this exciting encounter.
Sevilla Over 1.5 goals v Malaga @ 1.72 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Sevilla to beat Malaga @ 1.83 (Betfair) – 3 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Sevilla come into this game 4 days away from a Europa League final with their only ambition of winning is to secure a spot in the Champions League. Sevilla are one of the few teams who have potentially 2 chances of securing a Champions League spot; and will start off today against Malaga away from home.
Sevilla head to Malaga with great form behind them looking to score goals and do their end of the business when it comes to securing a Europa League spot. Sevilla have been in great scoring form, scoring 2 goals in 11 out of their last 13 games including against good teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Fiorentina and even Zenit. Sevilla’s great form is a result of goal scoring exploits of Bacca, Gameiro, Vidal, Suarez and Reyes to name a few. All of them will be extremely pumped up to put in a solid performance so that their team can seal up the Champions League spot; but also a lot of them will be auditioning to secure their place in the starting XI for the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Malaga on the other hand have been in poor form, winning just 1 game in their last 10 fixtures; that has seen them lose their Europa League spot coming into this fixture. Malaga know that they have to go for a positive result in front of their home fans, and this will see a lot of spaces available for Sevilla on the counter attack, and they have shown teams even Barcelona, that they can very well attack.
In the last 3 meetings between the 2 sides, Sevilla have shown their goal scoring exploits netting 2 goals in all of them; and one can expect the Europa League finalists to give it their all and get the 2 goals from this encounter itself.
Italian Serie A
Genoa v Inter Milan – Over 14.5 corners @ 1.67 (Bet365) – 3 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Juventus v Napoli – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.84 (Pinnacle) – 2.5 points
Juventus host Napoli in the final game of the Serie A season with Napoli coming to this game to get a victory and nothing less. As Napoli missed out on the final of the Europa League, which could have given them a shot to qualify for the Champions League; they must now to try to do it the hard way by going after the Champions of Italy in their own backyard.
Juventus players will be extremely tired after playing 120 minutes on Wednesday night, followed by an early fixture on Saturday. Juventus have already sown up the title, and Allegri will look to rest some of his older players who have played non-stop this season including Pirlo, Buffon, Chiellini, Tevez, Barzagli and Evra who will need to be kept fresh ahead of the Champions League final. This will give an opportunity for some of the younger players to prove themselves to possibly sneak into the starting XI of the UCL Finals. Players expected to start including Marchisio, Morata, Matri, Padoin, Sturaro, Pereyra to name a few.
Napoli will field the strongest XI possible for this encounter, and while it is not certain whether they will get a Champions League spot; they are focused on maintaining their end of the bargain. Hamsik, Higuain, Mertens, Callejon will be among those who will definitely start up in this game as they will look for goals till the bitter end to try and gain a victory.
These 2 teams have played our some exciting encounters in their 2 meetings this season Juventus with a 3-1 back in January while a 2-2 in the Super Cup Final in Doha; also set it up as an exciting encounter. While Juventus plan to field a slightly weakened squad, I expect lots of goals to definitely dominate this game in the final Serie A game of the season.
