Tonight, we take a look at some action coming from the Copa Italia finals from Italy as well as from the Austrian Bundesliga.
Juventus AH:0,-0.5 to beat Lazio @ 1.91 (Pinnacle) – 3.5 points
Juventus begin their quest towards their treble after already securing the Scudetto and now will aim to secure the double tonight against Lazio in the Coppa Italia.
Juventus have truly been a team in great form through out the campaign; and even on the weekend when they had a largely fringe squad playing, they still managed to come back from a 1 goal deficit to beat Inter Milan by a score of 2-1. That just shows you the form and class that this team is playing with. Last time that Lazio and Juventus played was in Turin, and I had the pleasure of watching that game back in April at the Juventus Stadium. Juventus completely dominated the game not giving Lazio even a glimmer of a hop, and while that night the team was undervalued at 1.83; I think tonight also Juventus is getting a great deal by this price especially considering their recent form and motivation.
Juventus can also look to the form of 3 key players Carlos Tevez, Alvaro Morata and Arturo Vidal who have been superb going forward, able to push on for the goals and play for each other as was seen over the 2 legs un the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. Paul Pogba will also be welcomed back into the starting lineup along with Marchisio and Pirlo to really put out a world Class front 6 compared to many other teams in Italy and even in Europe.
Lazio have been in a complete mixed bag in recent weeks, seen them dropped form 2nd to 3rd and under major threat from Napoli to lose their UEFA Champions League spot. Lazio have relied on 36 year old Miroslav Klose to do the bulk of their scoring this year; while players like Candreva, Dordevic, Mauri and Anderson have played a role in chipping in with the goals on and off the campaign. Lazio have struggled to score in recent weeks while also drawing some winnable games; which will not bode too much confidence for this team.
Juventus have dominated this match up in the last 2 years winning, 2-0, 3-0, 4-1, 4-0 while drawing the solitary 1-1 in January last year. The form, the motivation, the quality of players and the goal scoring exploits; all should see it in line for a solid Juventus victory tonight.
Sturm Graz v Red Bull Salzburg – Over 3 Asian Goal Line @ 1.88 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Red Bull Salzburg to beat Sturm Graz @ 1.95 (Bet365) – 3 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Red Bull Salzburg have the opportunity to seal of the Austrian Bundesliga tonight depending on their ability to churn out a victory in this game. Salzburg have been the best team by far in the Bundesliga, winning 27 games, losing 7 and drawing 5. What makes them standout over the last few years has been their ability to score a lot of goals. They have scored 91 goals in 33 games which is 30 more than their next rivals Rapid Vienna who scored 61 goals.
The Salzburg games are averaging around 4 goals per game, and they have had a minimum of 3 goals in 12 out of the last 13 games in the league; and this bodes confidence on this pick potentially landing. The hit man for their team Soriano who has hit 30 goals all season has particularly been in great form knocking 9 goals in his last 7 games in the league and also has been ably supported by Sabitzer (18 goals) and Djuricin (12 goals).
Their opponents Sturm Graz are in 3rd spot; 15 points behind leaders Salzburg and haven’t had the best of form recently, failing to win in their last 4 games. This season the record is 2-1 to Salzburg, but the won game won by Sturm were 3-2 away from home against Salzburg. Sturm Graz have relied largely on Piesinger (9 goals), Kienast (7 goals) and Avdijaj (5 goals) to help in their scoring efforts. Their games have average around 3 goals per game this campaign.
The meetings between the 2 have seen a minimum of 3 goals in their last 5 straight meetings and with Salzburg looking to clinch the title and Sturm looking to seal Europa League qualification, I expect an exciting encounter tonight.
