We are now in the last week of April and as we had to the final stages of the league season, the excitement will be all over the place with some exciting matchups to take advantage of.

England Premier League
Crystal Palace to beat Hull City @ 2.10 (Betfair) – 2 points

Crystal Palace have been in great form coming into this game and will be looking towards this game against Hull City to extend their great form. They have been rejuvenated under new manager Pardew and that has seen them get out of the relegation zone now up to 11th in the league. In fact if you look at the league table after Pardew took over, Palace would be 5th just below Chelsea in 4th, which just showcases the great form that they have been in.

In their last 7 games they have won 5, and have looked a solid team to keep a top 10 position in the league. The form of players like Gayle, Bolaise, Murray, Puncheon, Zaha to continue their run towards the top half of the table. They have beaten almost all the teams below them in their recent run including Sunderland, QPR, Leicester, Burnley as well as teams slightly above them including Newcastle, Stoke, West Ham and even upset Manchester City a few weeks ago.

Hull City look like relegation candidates especially when they are tied with Leicester in 18th spot, anything can happen for them. Hull have only won 3 games since January turned over Everton, Aston Villa and QPR; but have struggled v all other sides. Their struggles in front of goal have been the biggest reason for them despite signing some good forwards like Jelavic, Hernandez, N’Doye, Snodrgrass to name a few. They are the 3rd worst scoring team in the league after Burnley and Sunderland, and I don’t expect any less form coming into this game.

Form, scoring, momentum and home crowd are with Crystal Palace, and I expect them to complete the job this week after last weeks’ disappoint loss to West Brom.

Liverpool to beat West Brom @ 2.00 (Bet365) – 2 points

Liverpool will come off a disappointing week last time around against Aston Villa and take on 2 teams who are lower than them in the table this week. Liverpool have a double game week taking on West Brom and Hull this week, and should they win, while Villa pull off an unlikely point out of Man City, the difference between Liverpool and 4th spot Man City, could be narrowed down to 4 points or even 2 points.

Liverpool will not have Daniel Sturridge up front, and will rely on the Markovic, Balotelli and Borini up front in order to help on their scoring efforts. With Sterling, Henderson, Coutinho all in great form coming into this game, I expect Liverpool will put on a top performance to find the back of the net. Defensively Liverpool have improved in recent weeks and a solid performance from their defense will be needed in order for them to continue a good run towards the end of the season.

West Brom put on a top performance against Palace last weekend winning by a score of 2-0; but will need to work things around against a spirited Liverpool defense, who they have failed to beat in the last 2 years. Liverpool have grabbed 4 points out of 6 in their last 2 appearances at the Hawthorns and will be looking to try and continue that form away at the Baggies. They have got smashed by QPR, Leceister and Man City in the last few weeks.

Liverpool should sneak out a narrow victory, probably 1-0; and thats why I am going for lower stakes on this game.

German Bundesliga
Leverkusen to beat Cologne @ 1.75 (Bet365) – 3 points

Leverkusen will head into this game with some hot form and knowing that victory will keep them in the hunt for the automatic promotion spot to the UEFA Champions League especially with Gladbach hot on their heals. Leverkusen have been a truly entertaining team for most of the campaign and after Bayern and Wolfsburg are the 3rd highest scorers in the league. With young talent such as Kiessling, Calhanoglu, Son, Rolfes, Bendner in their lineup, they can easily be in the top 3 in the league for many years to come. Against a struggling Cologne side, they smashed them by a score of 5-1 back in November, and will be aiming to continue their good winning streak 7 straight games now in the league.

Cologne are struggling with just 2 victories in the last 3 months, and somehow have managed to get out of the relegation zone and are now 12th in the league 7 points above the last relegation spot. Their poor form can be attributed to their poor scoring form as they are the 3rd worst scoring team in the league with 29 goals in 29 games.

Leverkusen should jump on this opportunity to secure another victory and hold of Gladbach, and I expect them to grab a solid victory tonight.
