SOCCER SATURDAY is back in January of 2015 after I missed last weekend, and hope to sneak out some good value picks out of this weekend.

England Premier League
West Ham DNB to beat Liverpool @ 3.90 (Bet365) – 2 points

Liverpool take on a tough West Ham team who smashed them by a score of 3-1 last time around in this matchup. Liverpool will be extremely exhausted after playing 120 minutes in mid-week with all of their starters making an appearance in that game, while the Hammers are well rested after an FA Cup victory on Sunday, so this matchup looks like an extremely exciting one.

West Ham have been in decent form undefeated in all competitions since December, with 3 draws and now 3 straight victories. Their form has been due to success of their front line of Valencia, Sakho, Caroll and Amalfitano who have all chipped in for their success in the goal scoring department as well as creating opportunities for each other. With the player of the season for West Ham Downing given a free role to roam around the pitch and create chances as and when he sees fit, he will look to show the Liverpool faithful what they are missing since they sold him almost 2 years ago. The Hammers new flair for football of counter attacking is absolutely beautiful to watch, and after the team has pushed themselves to 7th spot and were holding 4th for a while, you can expect big things from the Hammers who will look to attack from the 1st whistle.

While Liverpool are a home side, you normally want to favor them especially looking at their league form, however their recent performances where they will play their 4th game in 10 days, which will add to their exhaustion especially with a 120 minute game in mid-week against a strong Chelsea team. Liverpool will be tempted to rest players like Gerrard, Sterling, Coutinho who all played their socks off for 120 minutes, which could see some reshuffling of their front line. They might welcome back Sturridge, but will be rusty after not playing for most of the season.

This game will be an extremely tight encounter, and while everyone expects this to be a draw, I am sure that a solitary goal scored by the Hammers, and they have the ability to keep Liverpool quiet to sneak out a victory.

Dutch Eredivisie
PSV Over 2.5 goals v Willem II @ 1.72 (Bet365) – 2.5 points

PSV have been in good form in front of their home fans netting 30 goals while conceding only 4 in their last 9 games, and will be looking to replicate a similar performance against a struggling Willem II team. The matchup between these 2 sides has seen PSV hit at least 3 goals in 3 straight games and in 4 off 5 games, and with a much better attacking unit than they had in the past; you can expect them to continue in this vain of form.

Memphis Depay, Luuke de Jong, Adam Maher, Wijnaldum have hit 35 out of the 51 goals that the team has scored this campaign; and will look to run riot in front of their home fans again tonight. Their last 3 home games read scorelines: 5-0, 4-3, 2-0 to show how much fan they are having scoring.

Willem II have won just 1 game in their last 5 games, and have lost more games than they have won this campaign to sit in 10th spot in the league. They have failed to get a victory in their last 3 away fixtures, i.e, no victory since November away from home. PSV are playing ahead of their rivals and they know that a victory will push them 9 points ahead of 2nd place Ajax, and that is what they will look to do tonight.

Turkish Super Lig
Fenerbahce to beat Karabukspor @ 1.88 (Bet365) – 2.5 points

The Turkish leaders Fenerbahce are going through a dream spell at this time, having not lost a single game in the league since an 18th October defeat to Galatasaray, and that is one of the reasons they have climbed to the top of the table. They have currently won 6 straight games, and managed to eek out results even if they do not play well, which is a hallmark of a great team in any competition.

Fenerbahce boast a talented bunch of individual players who are playing well together as a team, players including Kuyt, Webo, Sow, Diego, Emenike, Emre, Meireles, Bruno Alves, Volkan among a great group of talented players who work hard for the team and help them to this position that they are in. Currently they hold a 1 point lead over Besiktas who are hot on their heels, and know they have to put a strong performance in this game in order to maintain their dominance.

Karabukspor are struggling in the league, failing to buy a victory since a small 2 game winning streak in early December and have got only those 2 victories in their last 10 league encounters. Karabukspor’s biggest problem, lack of goal scorers as they have netted only 20 goals in 17 games, which is the 3rd worst in the league and has seen them sit in 15th spot, just 1 point over the relegation zone. Last year the 2 teams split their victories, with each team winning at home, but Fenerbahce has now won 2 straight against them.

Fenerbahce have been in rollicking form off late and victory tonight will give them 2 straight months of building a 100% record, and with rivals hot on their heals, I expect them to secure the win tonight without too much difficulty.
