Looking to grab on some early lines today to continue the decent run on the NBA picks we are having now.
CLE Cavaliers Over 107.5 points v DET Pistons @ 1.90 (MarathonBet) – 2 points
The Cleveland Cavaliers will feel their offense has finally hit that rhythm where they can outscore many of the opponents as is seen during their 6 game winning streak. They have averaged over 114 points per game during that run, and one of the major reasons is the addition of JR Smith, Mozgov and Shumpert who have provided extra scoring assistance to James, Love and Irving who can see their minutes better managed as they move forward.
LeBron James has come into his All-Star and MVP form in the last few games after resting from injury and now average nearly 29 points per game during this streak, and Irving averaging 23 points with Love on 15 points and 10 boards finally makes this team a formidable opposition. If the 3 of them scoring their averages that is around 65-70 points off the same that is sorted out especially against this poor defensive Detroit team. Smith’s 18 points per game plus Mozgov’s 10 points per game over the recent stretch are further helping their run.
The Cavaliers got smashed by the Pistons in their 1st meeting earlier in the season, and will want to come out with a statement tonight by putting up a lot of points on the board against the Pistons.
TOR Raptors -2 to beat IND Pacers @ 1.75 (MarathonBet) – 2.5 points
Toronto will look to build on their 2 game winning streak now that DeMar DeRozan has finally got back into his stride after injury going for 25 points last time around against Detroit. Together with All-Star starter Kyle Lowry, Vasquez and Valancuinas; they build up a formidable lineup who are looking to get back to their position as the top teams in the East.
The Pacers struggled throughout this campaign; difficulties in finding an offensive punch has been the cause of their troubles. They are 2-8 in their last 10 games with their only victories coming against lowly Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics. They have gotten well beaten my many teams including this Toronto team who smashed them by 12 points in their first meeting this season. The Pacers will feel that they have a matchup to play against this Toronto team defensively, but how they can manage their offensive production will tell this game.
Toronto need to start winning here, and this game against divisional rivals Indiana is a perfect matchup for them to get back into form.
WAS Wizards -7.5 to beat LA Lakers @ 1.72 (888Sport) – 3 points
The Washington Wizards will not have to face Kobe Bryant tonight, and might land up grabbing an early lead as most of Lakers best players are coming off the bench including Nick Young, Jeremy Lin, Wesley Johnson and Carlos Boozer. The Wizards led by John Wall blasted the Lakers by 16 points on their previous meeting, and will feel confident of getting a similar result.
Wall, Beal, Gortat, Pierce and Nene is a formidable front 5 that should be too much to handle for the Lakers and that pressure will continuously be applied by the bench lineup of Otto Porter, Kris Humphries, Rasual Buttler, Andre Miller, Kevin Seraphin, Martell Webster among the deep bench that the Wizards have established. They are currently 1-1 on their road trip, beating Denver while losing to Portland; and will feel this is one game that they should make it through.
The Lakers have lost 8 straight games now, and most of them they have been smashed by 10 or more points that too against like New Orleans, Utah Jazz, Miami Heat among weaker teams that they have fallen to in their recent stretch. Nick Young will be expected to step up for the absence of Kobe Bryant; but it will be needed to see how he handles the pressure of being the main guy there.
Washington is 8-0 on the road this season when holding its opponent under 100 points, and considering the Lakers current scoring form, they should make it 9-0 tonight.
