The NBA season rolls on and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.

NBA Basketball
GS Warriors -5.5 to beat UTA Jazz @ 1.67 (Bet365) – 3 points

The Warriors are in great form winning 6 straight and 8-2 in their last 10 games to help secure a 29-5 record so far this campaign. Their defensive play has been extremely god so far; with a winning margin of over 11 points per game and that has helped them secure victory against some of the stronger teams in the NBA.

The Warriors are averaging over 109 points per game over the course of the season, which is the highest in the NBA. They have now had 6 straight games with 110 points+ including against good defensive teams like Oklahoma, Indiana, Toronto and also including some poorer teams like Cleveland, Minnesota and Philadelphia in this run. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson have been the particular scorers for the Warriors averaging 45 points between the 2 of them; and when you watch the games, they come at a very easy pace. Additionally, they have had some great contributions from a number of players including Speights, Barnes, Green, Iguadola, Lee and now the returning Andrew Bogut.

The Jazz have been a pretty average team; but have only won 6 games at home so far and are staring at a 3rd straight loss after losing to the Thunder and the Rockets in their last 2 games. Despite their losses they have slowly learnt to keep games close with a +/- differential of only -3 points. However, their scoring ability keeps it only to 96 points per game with only Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors the scorers in double digits for them. In the previous meeting between the 2 sides, the Warriors had beaten them by 13 points; and look confident for another win tonight.

I am backing the Warriors to cover on a lower spread especially with Miami game taking place at home tomorrow.

DAL Mavericks -3.5 to beat SAC Kings @ 1.80 (Pinnacle) – 2.5 points

The Dallas Mavericks have lost 2 straight games in a row; getting smashed by 20 pts by the Clippers and by 13 to the Pistons. Rick Carlisle has a job to do on his hands, and the team will be looking to turn around this tonight. The Mavericks take on the Kings having 4 straight victories including an 8 point victory over them in November, when they had a weaker team than they have today.

With a strong lineup including Chandler, Nowitzki, Parsons, Ellis and Rondo – it doesn’t get any better than this as compared to any other team in the NBA. The Mavericks have their starting five all in double digit scoring as well as Chandler who is 5th in rebounds per game, Rondo who is 3rd in assists per game, and Rondo and Elis who are top 10 in steals. With 3 nights off as a rest; they should be absolutely refreshed especially for Rondo who needed some days off to practice on a his shooting which he has had some struggles on.

The Kings have been playing decently well since Cousins has come back; and interim-coach Corbin has been leading the team decently well since Malone has been fired. Sacramento Kings rely a whole lot on Cousins, Gay and Collison, and when they have a bad game, it clearly reflects in the poor performance of the team. They have lost badly to some average teams like Detroit, Denver, Boston, Brooklyn in their last 7 games, which hardly fills you with confidence on how they can do a job. Their best bench player Omri Caspi is out injured and other than Landry, the Sacramento bench has come up empty at critical times.

I expect Dallas to return back to winning ways tonight; and cover the spread as the Kings have been 4-19 on the spread since November end.
