Looking to build some momentum after 3 straight winners in a row in the NBA

NBA Basketball
HOU Rockets -5 to beat BKN Nets @ 1.76 (Bet365) – 3 points

The Houston Rockets are coming into this game on the back of a 3 game winning streak. This can only get better for them as they adjust Josh Smith in the rotation as well as the recovery from injuries of Howard, Beverley; they look solid to start building on this winning streak to push on. The Rockets are stronger v last year with the addition of Trevor Ariza who has improved his defense as well as Harden who is clearly the MVP of this team on both offensive and defensive end. The back up players for Rockets Motiejunas, Papanikolaou, Terry and Brewer are quite strong and experienced v many benches in the NBA.

The Brooklyn Nets have been struggling really badly especially now that they are on a 5 game winning streak with coach Lionel Hollins honestly looking lost with this bunch who are contributing to the highest luxury tax bill in the NBA. With the exception of Joe Johnson, the whole starting 5 has been changing regularly with Lopez, Williams, Jack, Teletovic, Bogdanovic, Garnett, Plumlee all rotating to find the best fit. Ultimately, there is a lot of unsettling for their players. The biggest problem for them is their offensive ability which has not been up to the scratch in the bottom 6 in the NBA while scoring just 96 points per game.

The Rockets are in good shape and with the Nets looking lost even at home; I expect the Rockets to win this won while covering the spread.

NO Pelicans -3 to beat BOS Celtics @ 1.67 (Bet365) – 2.5 points

The New Orleans Pelicans have struggled on the road in recent times; but the numerous changes and the plans to crash by the Boston Celtics by rebuilding on the fly; gives us an indication that the Pelicans could have a good night tonight.

The Pelicans are led by Anthony Davis who in a few years time when LeBron James retires; will be the poster child for the NBA. He leads his team in 3 big categories; points at 23.8 ppg; rebounds at 10.5 boards and blocks with 2.9 stuffs per game. His supporting cast of young talented players like Holiday, Evans, Asik, Gordon and Anderson to name a few who together can create history; and will become like the Oklahoma City Thunder in 1 or 2 years from now, once they all develop and gain experience. The team have been fairly good in their recent performances beating Houston and Memphis for their 2 victories in their last 2 games. They have some confidence coming into this game and will be looking to take the attack to the Celtics tonight.

The Celtics are rebuilding on the fly and now just got of their best player on the team from this year in Jeff Green which really is hurting them. Since they traded Rondo they have gone 2-8 and have lost 2 straight with their only victory coming against a poor Brooklyn team. The Celtics have even lost to average teams like Indiana and Detroit; which makes you feel that the Pelicans have a good chance. The youngsters of Celtics will get to play a lot of minutes with Danny Ainge now looking to clear out the stock pile of average players such as Nelson, Prince, Brandon Bass among the tradable piece with which he could acquire further draft picks.

The Celtics will put in a good performance but the strong hold that the Pelicans should have on the wing especially from 3 point territory should help them beat the Pelicans tonight and get rid of their poor away performances.
