With the FA Cup 3rd round in action along with most of the Premier League teams entering this stage; it looks to have some entertaining fixtures this Monday night football.

England FA Cup
Tottenham to beat Burnley @ 1.85 (Bet365) – 2.5 points

Tottenham come into this FA Cup game against Burnley full of confidence after a 5-3 victory over Chelsea, and should be completely rested compared to many other teams ready to take on this game and hopefully another victory.

Burnley will be taking survival in the Premier League as a top priority as they have seen as recent as Wigan on what a FA Cup run can do to your league survival chances. Sean Dyche will be without Shackell, Long and Duff due to injuries, and might give a run out to a few fringe players to keep their better players fit as they face a relegation 6 pointer against QPR on Saturday. Burnley have been extremely good on the counter attack especially through Barnes, Boyd on the wings with Ings and Vokes in the middle; but it this is a FA Cup, and things tend to be much more difficult as teams aim to keep their defenses tighter in order to try and not concede goals.

Tottenham are on good form winning 5 out of their last 6 games, and its no surprise that the form coincides with the great run that Harry Kane has been having. The young Tottenham forward will probably be rested in favor of Roberto Soldado and Emanuel Adebayor who are both looking for some form in front of goal to strike them soon. Ryan Mason & Lamela are expected to be out of this game. Tottenham would like to take their success from the 2-1 win over Burnley over 2 weeks ago. Lamela and Kane struck gold that time around; and it will be important for some fringe players to get a good run out to prove themselves worthy of the team especially with a fixture pile up for Tottenham with Premier League and League Cup duties last this month.

Tottenham’s bench boast a great host of talent with the likes of Vorm, Lennon, Townsend, Paulinho, Dier, Chiriches, Dembele, Capoue all expected to step in against a Burnley side who will also shuffle the pack. The only difference is many of these Tottenham players have been involved in the Europa League rotation as well as minor changes during the Christmas fixtures, and Tottenham should clearly be the more fit of the teams to handle the situation tonight and secure the victory.
