SUPER SUNDAY football is back in December and I hope that some bankable picks can do the business this weekend.

England Premier League
Man Utd to beat Liverpool @ 1.85 (Betfair) – 2.5 points

Manchester United are in the best form they have been since Sir Alex left, a 5 match winning streak has seen them jump to 3rd in the table, rightly where they should be.

United have the home fans to back them tonight as they have only lost 1 game while drawing 1 against Chelsea and winning their remaining 6 games, which is what Old Trafford needed to go back to being, A FORTRESS. United will be particularly happy that van Persie and Rooney have been in spectacular form this season with RVP netting 6 goals and Rooney 5; to get them back to that elite level that they have been. In today’s current day and age, Man Utd are the only team that are fielding 2 strikers up front in the Premier League which shows you the intent they have in most of their games. United have quite a few defensive injuries racked up, but that shouldn’t change the fact that the support the 2 men get including from Fellaini, Mata, Herrera, Valencia should be enough to create chances for them.

Liverpool have been terrible, terr-eee-bul this season. They languish in 9th spot in the league, struggling to score goals and cannot even beat teams like Basel at home. Liverpool got out of a mini-slump in the Premier League with 2 wins and a draw against sides from the bottom half of the table. With the absence of Sturridge and the sale of Suarez, the Reds are missing a lot of their goals this season as no player has been able to step up in a big way to help that scoring. Defensively they have been extremely sloppy, conceding in all but 3 games in the entire season, and I expect another leakfest from them.

Man Utd have been lethal at home so far, and with the poor form showed by their opponents, I expect Man United to steal this victory tonight.

Austria Bundesliga
Red Bull Salzburg v Rapid Vienna – Over 3,3.5 Asian Goal Line @ 1.80 (Bet365) – 3 points

When was the last time a Red Bull Salzburg game had less than 3 goals, I mean really. It was actually on 1st of November. 6 out of the 7 games played by them since 1st of November have seen 4 goals or more, with the only other game seeing exactly 3 goals. 6 games before that had 5 games with 4 goals and just 1 goal at 3 goals exactly. So we know we get goal when Salzburg plays.

Salzburg games have 79 goals in 18 games in the league, which is over 4 goals per game, and that is due ot the fact they are an extremely offensive minded team. Most of their goals have come from Soriano (formerly of Barcelona & Espanyol) scoring 19 goals, Alan with 9 goals, Sabitzer with 8 goals and Bruno with 6 goals. They have been winning most of the games, but are vulnerable to the defeat as seen by their humiliating 4-1 defeat at Altach.

Rapid Vienna are having a mixed season and sitting 5th in the pack. Their away games have seen almost 4 goals per game being scored, where they have a 3-3-3 record. They have particularly struggled over the last 5 with just 1 win while conceding almost 4 goals per game in that poor run of form as well. Despite that they still have to scorer Berič leading their scoring efforts with 11 goals.

Expecting this game to continue to be a goal fest like most of Salzburg’s previous games, and what also helps us is that the last 2 home games of Salzburg against Rapid Vienna were a 6-1 and 6-3 victory from this calendar year.
