The NBA season rolls on and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.
HOU Rockets +2 to beat SAC Kings @ 1.81 (Pinnacle) – 3 points
The Houston Rockets are strong favorites coming into this game against the Sacramento Kings, despite their loss to the Warriors 24 hours earlier. The Rockets played a good game and led for large stretches of the game until they lost the lead late in the 4th quarter after a huge Golden State Warriors run.
James Harden was as usual leading the way for the Houston Rockets and had a stellar night with 34 points. They also had strong contributions from Patrick Beverley with 12 points, 7 boards and 6 assists to go with 18 points a piece from Ariza and Montiejunas. The Rockets have found a way to continue winning despite Dwight Howard absent. They have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games and have beaten Phoenix, Minnesota, Milwaukee and Memphis until last night’s loss with the Warriors.
The Kings have struggled without Cousins, because not only are they losing a scorer on the inside, but a good defensive player as compared to the reserves they have today. Rudy Gay has been the only player leading the scoring department and occasionally has Mclemore and Collison chip in, but not on a consistent basis. Sacramento are now 2-5 without Cousins and must face a stronger Rockets team especially when compared to the Lakers who they lost to by a narrow score of 98-95.
I expect the Rockets to get the best of this situation, and hopefully should be able to take the lead in the 1st half itself and maintain it.
