The NBA season rolls on and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.
LA Clippers -3.5 to beat UTA Jazz @ 1.67 (888Sport) – 3 points
The LA Clippers march into Salt Lake City on the back of 3 game winning streak and won 4 out of their last 5 away games. They have been on the road recently, and should look to roll into town aiming to build a 4 game winning streak against one of their conference rivals.
Most of their starters played less than 30 minutes yesterday, so they should be fresh after routing the Houston Rockets by 17 points last night. Blake Griffin scored 30 points in 31 minutes last night. Griffin is third in the NBA with 29.5 points per game in the second half of back-to-backs and will be looking to pounce on the opportunity to score more points tonight. They also had great contributions from Paul, Crawford, Redick, Hawes and Jordan last night against the Rockets and pretty much through out the season. Doc Rivers has built up this team with one of the deepest benches. Clippers are extremely efficient offensively, looking for more opportunity on high percentage looks which has seen them lead the NBA in third spot for highest field goal percentage at 47% behind the Warriors and Mavericks.
The Jazz are struggling, down on a 4 game losing streak, losing 3 out of those 4 games by double digits. They have to blame their own scoring for lack of ability to win games, scoring only 95 points per game, while losing by an average of 5.5 points. The Jazz are a young team in rebuilding mode, and could be forgiven for this poor performances this season. Their bench has been largely inconsistent with them scoring only 3 points in their last outing.
The Clippers are on a 10 game winning streak in this match up against the Jazz and beat them by 6 points in the 1st match up of the series already. I expect the Clippers to continue their run of winning the last 6 games by a 4 points+ margin.
