SUPER SUNDAY football is back in November, and we have a truly exciting lined up this week.

French Ligue 1
Lyon AH-1 to beat Guingamp @ 1.78 (MarathonBet) – 3 points

Lyon come into the game against knowing that a win will all likely push them into at least 3rd spot in the French Ligue 1, when they take on strugglers Guingamp who are sitting in the relegation zone.

Lyon have had some pretty impressive wins so far this campaign beating some of the big teams in France including Montpellier, Lille, Marseille while grabbing an impressive draw with PSG. Lacazette has been in particularly impressive form netting 10 goals and is now tied with Gignac as the top scorer in the league. He has got some great support from the likes of Fekir, Gourcuff and Malbranque. The creativity from their players is for all to see as they have the top 3 assist creators in Ligue 1 in Feri, Lacazette and Lyon have been particular dominating at home, in fact the best teams in the Ligue 1, winning 6 out of the 7 games played this campaign so far. They have kept a tight shift defensively with the 3rd best defense in the league conceding only 10 goals.

Guingamp have been struggling most of the campaign primarily due to their UEFA Europa league commitments. They have a smallish squad and that has resulted in them committing most of their squad getting exhausted and losing every game after a Europa League game. Last time around they were smashed 7-2 by Nice. Their biggest troubles which stop you from backing them to get any result tonight is their poor goal scoring effort where they only have 9 goals 12 games.

Lyon are coming with all the momentum, confidence and more importantly rest on their side. This game comes a little earlier v the rest, and they should put pressure on their rivals by winning this one convincingly at home.

PSG v Marseille – BTTS @ 1.85 (BetVictor) – 2 points

PSG and Marseille take part in a battle of the heavyweight’s clash in Ligue 1; and could go a long way to determine the result of this campaign. Should PSG win, they close the gap with Marseille to 1 pt; but if Marseille win, they open up a 7 point lead against the Paris outfit, which is hard to overcome.

Marseille have been in great form all campaign, scoring in all but 2 games against Montpellier and Lyon. Overall they have netted 27 goals from 12 games; which is a pretty good return, and the scoring form is mainly on the head of Gignac who has had a splendid season with 10 goals so far. Payet and Thauvin also had a part to play adding 7 goals between them. Suspensions will not help Marseille today as Ayew, Morel and Ramao, who have contributed a great deal to their success so far. Marseille tend to concede particularly in away games. If they go ahead, they tend to sit instead of going a 2nd goal, and that results in teams hitting goals against them on the counter attack.

PSG has only one news that should confirm they are going to score, ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC. The Swedish hit-man should be making a full return to the squad today, and that can only add the confidence to the team at the Parc De Princes when they face Marseille in this important game. In his absence, Cavani, Lucas, Lavezzi have picked up form, and particularly the Cavani and Lucas have netted 10 between them to go on a 5 game winning streak, and have been unbeaten all campaign in all competitions. PSG are generally strong at home, but against bigger teams, tend to concede and concede 1st in many instances. Van der Wiel is suspended from defense which will see Aurier step in.

This looks like a game worth staying up to watch no matter what country you are in. I’m definitely expecting goals at both ends, in what could be a 2-2 draw in this top of the table clash.

England Premier League
Arsenal Over 1.5 goals v Swansea City @ 2.00 (Betfair) – 2.5 points

Arsenal are coming into this game fresh of a massive goal fest in their last outing against Anderlecht, where they smashed 3 goals inside of 58 minutes. Arsenal’s touch in front of goal has been really good hitting 2 goals in the last 5 matches straight. It is no surprise that that turn in form has come due to the goal scoring form of Alexis Sanchez, who has been by far the best player for Arsenal this campaign.

Arsenal have had a lot of goals coming particularly from the midfield with support from Ramsey, Wilshere, Podolski & Oxlade-Chamberlain. Danny Welbeck in particular likes playing Swansea, scoring in 3 straight games against the Welsh outfit. Arsenal also average around 1.8 goals per game, that average bought down due to two 2-0 losses against Chelsea and Dortmund.

Swansea does not boast one of the best defenses in the league. They have conceded at least 2 goals in 3 out of their last 5 games which were teams like Newcastle, Stoke and Liverpool; all of whom haven’t been in the best scoring touch when you compared to Arsenal.

This bet has landed in 6 out of the last 7 meetings between the 2 sides, and seeing those stats Wenger might be confident of a victory, which gives me the confidence to back him on his side netting 2 goals.
