The NBA season rolls on and we go straight in early on this time with a pick in order to try and take advantage of some poor lines early on.

POR Trailblazers -3.5 to beat SAC Kings @ 1.67 (MarathonBet) – 2.5 points

Portland Trail Blazers play their first away game this season against the Sacramento Kings, who despite having long stretches of keeping the game close with Golden State, ended up losing by around 18 points.

The Sacramento Kings team is quite youthful, and didn’t seem to have the necessary experience on how to close out that game, despite being tied with the Warriors at home until 6 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter. The Kings rely most of their production on the offensive end to Cousins, Gay and Collison. The production from the rest of the team was one to worry about with only Landry chipping in with 8 points and 7 boards. A lot of stretches in a game rely on the contribution of your entire team, and unless the Kings can make one or 2 trades to improve their bench strength, you don’t see them becoming a play off team anytime soon.

The Blazers come into this game full of confidence after beating a Thunder team who were in their mojo despite Durant Missing. Every single player of the Blazers starting lineup landed up in double figures with Damian Lillard still not taken off netting only 10 points. One can only think how deadly this offense can get once he gets into the groove. The Blazers have some experienced bench players with the likes of Kaman, Blake to go along with supporting cast of Thomas Robinson, Dorell Wright and CJ McCollom.

Blazers will definitely be a much better team this year with the team beating Houston in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs while losing to a tough Spurs team in the Conference semi-finals. A lot of importance will lie on LA’12 (LaMarcus Aldridge) who netted 27 in the game against the Thunder. Hewho has looked to improve his game this year by even adding a 3 point shot to his game; and you can only see him get better with more experience to that shot.

The Blazers dominating this match up in 3 out of the 4 meeting between the teams last season and should cover the 3.5 point spread tonight.
