SOCCER Saturday starts of in October, and I am hoping to focus now with some solid picks after a lot of research preparing for this weekend.
England Premier League
Premier League Enhanced Trouble – Arsenal/Southampton/West Brom @ 6.5 (Betfair) – 1 points
Arsenal to beat Sunderland @ 1.80 (Betfair) – 2.5 points
Their performances this season have been lacklustre recently, that has resulted them in sitting in 7th position with just 2 wins from 8 games. To be even more specific they have won just 1 out of their last 7 fixtures. Their biggest issue coming recently has been on the defensive end where due to injuries and suspensions they have really been suffering.
Wenger will be happy to see some form coming through late on from Ramsey, Podolski, Welbeck and Sanchez in recent weeks, so scoring goals has not been an issue for them as they had only been shut out by Chelsea in all their games in recent weeks. Wojciech Szczesny who wasn’t in goal for the Champions League encounter will be back to add some stability to the backline who will most likely be without Koscielny.
Sunderland look in big trouble after the 8-0 loss last time around to a well organised Southampton team, and Wenger might look to the footage to see how he can replicate the similar performance to smash a few past Sunderland to give some confidence to his team. Sunderland have been the draw specialists this season, drawing 5 games which is as many as Arsenal with just 1 victory against Stoke City. Sunderland’s biggest issue has been going forward where they do not have consistency in front of goal with just 8 goals scored in 8 games
Wenger’s side will be particularly buoyed by the 2 last minute heroic games against Hull and Anderlecht last week, and should take some form into this game. The whole concentration will be on Arsenal to not leak any goals, and you might see a double pivot set of midfielders sitting there as Wenger will probably move to 4-2-3-1 instead of the 4-1-4-1 that he has been employing recently to keep a shut out. Arsenal should nick this game by 1 goal margin.
West Ham v Man City – Aguero Anytime Scorer @ 1.91 (Betfair) – 2 points
Man City DC to beat West Ham @ 2.04 (Betfair) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Sergio Aguero in particular has been in really hot form while scoring in his last 5 games, and overall has scored 11 goals in 11 appearances this season for Manchester City and last week we were treated to a 4 goal special last weekend. Sergio enjoys playing this team netting 3 goals in 3 games against them last season in Premier Laegue and League Cup last year, and I expect them to continue that form again.
Southampton v Stoke City – Graziano Pelle Anytime Scorer @ 2.12 (Betfair) – 2 points
Real Madrid v Barcelona – Ronaldo Anytime Scorer @ 1.91 (Betfair) – 2 points
Real Madrid v Barcelona – Over 1.5 First Half Goals @ 2.20 (Betfair) – 1.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Real Madrid v Barcelona – Over 3.5 First Half Goals @ 2.20 (Betfair) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Real Madrid v Barcelona – Over 11.5 corners @ 1.90 (Bet365) – 3 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Vitesse HT to beat Breda @ 1.91 (Betfair) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
Italian Serie A
Roma AH:-0.25 to beat Sampdoria @ 1.83 (Bet365) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
