SOCCER Saturday starts of in October, and I am hoping to focus now with some solid picks after a lot of research preparing for this weekend.

England Premier League
Man City v Tottenham – Aguero Anytime Scorer @ 2.20 (Betfair) – 2.5 points
Man City v Tottenham Over 4.5 goals @ 1.75 (Betfair) – 3 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)

Manchester City come into this game home at the Etihad looking for an early win to put pressure back on Chelsea who are sitting above them in the table. They take on Tottenham in the early kick off game this weekend.

Tottenham have generally not fared well against the bigger teams over the last few years. They got smashed by Liverpool and managed to luckily draw against an Arsenal side who were all over them like a rash. Manchester City hammered Tottenham 11-1 over the 2 fixtures last season will be aiming for a similar sort of performance.

Sergio Aguero in particular has been in really hot form while scoring in his last 3 games, and overall has scored 5 goals in 7 appearances this season. Despite a struggle in the last game against Aston Villa, he still managed to find a late goal in the game. He has generally scored goals against top sides this campaign such as Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Roma and I trust he will continue his good run leading the line and finding the back of the net this week.

West Ham DNB to beat Burnley @ 2.00 (William Hill) – 3 points

West Ham come into this game high on confidence after a good run of performances with a win against Liverpool and QPR, a spirited performance against Manchester United and a class draw against Hull City. After 4 games to bed in the new players that have come in, the squad looks absolutely solid with each one playing every week to win as a team.

Sam Allardyce had to change around his team and his style of play, instead of direct, for more flair, strong winger play and through balls. The player who has blossomed most in this change in style has been Downing, who has been given a free role behind the strikers to roam around to create the ball as he sees fit. Valencia and Sakho are the 2 new strikers up front, and with them in sparkling form as a partnership, its hard to see how Andy Carroll gets back into this team in the future.

Burnley have been pretty poor this season especially since they have lost 2 of their strikers to injuries, their recent performances with a number of draws, does not draw confidence on you backing Burnley to win. They have either lost or drawn their games scoring only 3 games so far, out of which 2 were in the last set of fixtures where they got a lucky break to draw against Leicester City.

West Ham look strong on paper, performances, confidence and should go on to win, but I keep the DNB as insurance.

Arsenal v Hull City – BTTS @ 1.91 (Betfair) – 2 points

Hull City have come into this game in cracking form especially in the goalscoring department as they have now netted 2 goals in each of their last 5 games against quality opposition. Hull put in a spirited performance against Manchester City even taking the lead but eventually losing 4-2 at the end of it. Hull have managed to get goal so far from Jelavic (4), Diame (3), Hernandez (2) who will be aiming to continue their great form coming into this game especially with the problems Arsenal have.

Arsenal have numerous injury issues which really puts a strain on manager Arsene Wenger to put out a squad on the pitch. Defensively they are missing Koscielny, Chambers, and Debuchy who are among their starters on the defensive end. Wenger will most likely put Monreal at CB (who is extremely short) plus Bellerin at RB to cover up; and if there are any injuries to any of the back 4, its one of the youth players who will probably step up to fill in. Other than that they are missing a lot of key players such as Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey, Rosicky, Gnabry, Walcott and Sonogo. This has been one of Arsenal’s worst start to a Premier League season with 10 points after 7 games, and the confidence is a bit low for them. Arsenal have also conceded in 8 out of their last 10 games, with only clean sheet against Aston Villa and Besiktas.

I am expecting Hull to get on the score sheet at least once tonight, with Arsenal should getting a goal since they playing at home.
