SOCCER Saturday is back today after the first round of the Champions League/Europa League proper; and we should have some potentially interesting results now.

England Premier League
West Ham v Liverpool – Over 10.5 corners @ 1.75 (Betfair) – 2.5 points
Newcastle v Hull City – Over 2,2.5 goals @ 1.98 (Bet365) – 2.5 points
Hull City DC to beat Newcastle @ 1.80 (Betfair) – 2.5 points

Newcastle are under tremendous pressure after just scrapping 1 victory since March in the Premier League. The fans are absolutely frustrated with Le Pardieu who has been just importing the mid-table players from the French Ligue 1; expecting them to perform; but he is getting dragged into a relegation dog fight.

Newcastle have not scored in 3 out of the 4 games played so far this season and that too in that game, none of the forward players managed to score a single goal. Their defense despite having some decent players, have kept only one clean sheet so far this season. Things are not looking good; as I expect them to definitely leak a goal.

Hull City look energized after some decent signings in transfer window with Abel Hernandez in particular looking absolutely sharp after top scoring in Serie B leading Palermo to the title. He is the exact type of hard-working forward that Hull needed in order to start grinding out results. They definitely looked the better team against West Ham on Monday night; and I expect them to nick a point for sure in this game against Newcastle despite all the pressure on the Magpies.

England Championship
Watford to beat Bournemouth @ 2.40 (Betfair) – 2 points
Milwall v Notts Forest – Assambalonga Anytime Scorer @ 2.70 (888Sport) – 1.5 points
Fulham v Blackburn Rovers – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.80 (Betfair) – 3 points

Fulham have finally got rid of Felix Magath and this should hopefully breathe some signs of relief among the Craven Cottage faithful as they entertain Blackburn Rovers in this weekend encounter. Fulham showed some early signs of improvement taking a 3-2 lead against table toppers Nottingham Forest; before losing late on by a score of 5-3.

A lot of Fulham’s games have seen them over 2.5 goals; particularly in the last 3 times these 2 sides met each other in 2011 and 2012. Fulham’s defense has been leaky all season long, and this has one of the main contributors to why they have struggled after letting go of Hangeland, Senderos and Steekelenberg. While they have signed Ross McCormack; who should be relieved after finally scoring; he will be looking to get them in front against Blackburn.

Rovers have that mercurial forward Jordan Rhodes who keeps delivering the performances season after season. He has already started out in fine fashion along with his partner in crime Gestede who have scored 7 goals between them. Midfielder Ben Marshall has also chipped in with a few goals; which means you could see quite a few blasted here tonight.

The last 6 Blackburn Rovers game have gone with over 2.5 goals; and I expect more of the same of that tonight.

France Ligue 1
Marseille to beat Rennes @ 2.00 (Betfair) – 2.5 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)

NYRB v Seattle Sounders – Bradley Wright Phillips Anytime Scorer @ 2.10 (Bet365) – 2 points (#INPLAYMAGIC)
