German Bundesliga
Bayer Leverkusen v Hertha Berlin – Kiessling Anytime Scorer @ 1.91 (Ladbrokes) – 2 points

Coming into this game Kiessling has been on hot form; in fact this form has been running since March, where he hasn’t gone more than 1 game without a goal. In the last 4 games he has scored 9 goals, 5 of htem being in one DFB Pokal Cup competition.

His goals helped them qualify to the Champions League proper round by scoring in both legs, which will bode a lot of confidence for him. His performances this year have shown how his team mates are looking for him regularly to be the main man for the team. What you also love about Kiessling is that he has some great pace to break on the counter attack, like he did in the 90th minute goal against Dortmund last week. Not to forget he also takes penalties for them.

He has been the mainline for Leverkusen for a few years now, and this season has been extremely instrumental in them playing well and getting towards the top of the table. In fact he has smashed 40 goals in the last 2 years against all opposition, and while already netting 9 early on this year, it can only be a great confidence starter for him. He will also be looking to prove a point to Joachim Low as he would like to break into the World Cup Champions national side with a few players retiring. Kiessling loves Hertha smashing a goal against them in the same fixture last year, and will aim to have a repeat performance next week.

Bayern Munich AH-1 to beat Schalke @ 1.75 (Betfair) – 2 points

This is one of the bigger games in Germany, theoretically of course, with people expecting the game to be flowing and an entertaining one. Bayern Munich come into this game after having most of their players back, jus a few injuries to contain with such as Rafina, Schweinsteiger, Ribery, Thiago and Javier Martinez among the few to contain with. Despite those injuries, Bayern still boast an extremely talented squad with the likes of Robben, Muller, Lewandowski, Gotze, Lahm, Shaqiri among the few who will definitely start up.

This match has seen a minimum of 3 goals in their games over the last 3 years, that have all been convincing victories for Bayern Munich whether home or away. Lewandowski will be hoping to open up his goal scoring prowess, and he could not have picked a better side than Schalke who have lost their last 4 games including friendlies and the DFB Pokal games.

Schalke have been shambolic, numerous injuries with the likes of Uchida, Fardan, Boateng, Giefer among a few injured while Huntelaar will face a late fitness test to see if he can participate in this game. If all that wasn’t bad, their last few performances against Bayern include losses with scorelines such as 1-5, 0-4, 0-4, 0-5, 0-2, 0-2, 0-2 and 1-4. Bayern have always found a way to expose this Schalke lineup over the years; and will be aiming to continue this run of form with another cover of the handicap to win tonight.
